yeah, will probably watch them pass through the paris suburbs on the last day like last year

I'll be there on the Champs-Elysees after cycling in from London that weekend. :)

I really have to make it to Paris one year to spectate.

Leaving on Monday to follow the peloton around the last week. Been visiting with my brother for the past 4 years now.

Fantastic! Are you going to Alpe d'Huez? I was fortunate enough to go in 2013. One of the best days of my life. Let me know if you need any tips on viewing the race there.

Froome is boring, but he's the best right now.

Contador made a mistake with his Giro+Tour attemp, he should retire and prepare for la Vuelta.

They completely ignore Gesink

2'50 gap for Contador. Didn't expect him to explode this 'early' in the race.

Might skip that one. Been there before and getting around is absolutely terrifying.

Crazy performance by Sky. Three riders before Teejay and Contador.

Probably not the worst idea! Certainly does get crazy. When I went we accessed the mountain from the side road through Villard-Reculas. It was still crowded but much better than I expected. We barely spent any time in traffic.

Nibali hasn't been outside the top 7 in a grand tour since 2008, a year he rode the giro-tour double.

I am hoping he can still do something.

Froome has put down a great marker, but there is still a long way to go.

Hopefully something can fire up the other big contenders tomorrow

So, that about decides the tour for this year. Hope Gesink can pull off a podium finish though (and maybe win a stage, but let's not get greedy :p)

Vinokourov just confirmed that Nibali has been demoted and Fuglsang is the new Astana captain

Makes sense, but a bit too late. They should've drawn that conclusion the second Nibali dropped today.

Weird move with Fuglsang even more behind than Nibali. It's not like they can fix things now.

The difference isn't big and would've been smaller had Vino made the call at the right time.

Yeah, if they had done it during the stage it would have made a difference. Now it's just too late I think.

It has probably mostly to do with the fact that Gesink went trough some pretty rough times to get to his current form. Seeing Gesink going up that mountain today got his emotions running.

They made the call during the last climb. But it was already too late by then. Fuglsang had lost a lot of time helping Nibali. He was able to get 1'16 on Nibali after the call was made.

No offense to Sky but when Thomas is finishing that high, complaining that he's being held up by the best climbers in the peloton, then sorry that's completely suspect.

Thomas is a decent climber, but no more than that.

Oh, I agree for sure.

I couldn't watch live, so when I watched the last 45 minutes of the stage I couldn't believe that the 29 year old Geraint Thomas is now a high mountain specialist. I've been watching cycling since I was about 10 so I've been disappointed enough times to know that something doesn't add up.

Very well done by Gesink. It seems Froome decided this Tour though, he is on the best form by far. Contador has the Giro in his legs.

I hope Gesink can continue this form, a top 3 would be possible. But I also root for Tejay, good sportsman and half dutch. Its only been the first climb though, but Froome is something else for sure.

Didn't you know? He's finally fulfilling his prophecy as the next Eddy Merckx. Classics and GC wins galore for him now.
