I took an afternoon trek all around the S.F. Bay Area visiting 5 TRUs and here's what I scored:

* The King of Fighters 2000/2001 (PS2) - $14.99
* Silent Hill 3 (PS2) - $9.97
* The Sims (Xbox) - $9.97
* Indiana Jones & The Emperor's Tomb (Xbox) - $14.99
* Hunter The Reckoning: Redeemer (Xbox) - $9.97
* Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) - $9.97
* The Mark of Kri (PS2) - $7.49
* Lost Kingdoms II (GC) - $9.97
* Soul Calibur II (GC) - $9.97
* Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hands (GBA) - $7.48

All for about $120. Excellent.

I thought Boktai would be $5 bucks, but it rang up as $7.48 since it went for $14.99 originally. Doesn't matter...heh. ^_^

Nice deals! :)

Apparantly in next week's (Sunday's) TRU ad, you can get Donkey Kong Country, Advance Wars 2, or Golden Sun 2 free if you buy a black GBA. GBA is only $35...

Nevermind, Indigo and Glacier GBA is confirmed $35. Not sure about the black one

Wario, only the older GBAs are $35. The black GBA is still $70. No store in my district has had any of the other colors since Christmas.

And for those wondering what the $115 PS2 deal is, its a bundle pack from last summer that contains ATV Offroad Fury, Jak &Daxter, controller, dvd remote, and coupon book. Note the system is the older model and not the '+' version. Amazon has it for $190 here (or type 858105 in the search box). There is another bundle that contains all that but has Ratchet and Clank instead of ATV Offroad Fury. This bundle has the + version PS2, but this bundle is not half off, it is still $230. Both coupon books expired, too.

Ratchet and Clank 2 isn't $20 anymore?! Dammit! I was going to pick it up later today (Sunday).

Shit, did anyone bother to ask them to look at the 50% off list, or check the backroom? The 50% off list that each Toys R Us has is different, showing items that THEY only have that is 50% off. Some guy on CAG asked the employee to check the backroom and he scored 3 copies of Rez and a copy of Front Mission 3...

i left a few other games (CIMA, Final Fight One, Freedom Fighters, Perfect Dark) on the shelf since i've already got enough to play, and they're not too rare.

i got:
Mega Man Network Transmission - $15
Ikaruga - ($20 not an amazing price but i really wanted this game)
PN03 (should've been $10)
Zone of Enders 2 - $10

Funny thing is, after checking my receipt, i realized that i didn't get charged for PN03. ^_^

i called to see if they had any copies of REZ in the back (i just got back), but no luck. i may make a trip back later to see if there's anything else in the back.

Edit: Well, looks like the reason i didn't get charged for PN03 is because the clerk didn't put it in my bag. i dont' know how; i saw her put remove it from the security case, demagnetize it, and put it in the bag. Fuck, i really didn't plan on driving out there until the end of the week.

Edit 2: i called up and spoke to the clerk who said i didn't give her the game to begin with. i know i picked the game up and put it in my stack, and i never put my stack down. Never.

The R&C2 box cover looks like it's on special material though...I haven't opened it but it looks shinier than a normal game

Sh!t!, I forgot about Ratchet & Clank 2 yesterday... perfect time to pick it up since it doesn't have the red strip on it. Did Jak II hit $20 yet?

Anyone try Nighshade? I saw it's been recently marked down to $20. $10 for that would be a steal.

Just went... they didn't have the list in the store so I had to try hard to remember what to buy. They had a few Disgaeas and DDR MAX 2s, but I have both. I ended up with Whiplash and Lufia, $15 each.

The only downside could be that the annual buy 2 get 1 free deal is dead. I used that a lot the past few years. I hope that's not the case.

Wow, killer sale.

I got

Beyond Good&Evil
Wario World
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Voodoo Vince
Prince of Persia (finally got around to getting it!)

Total- $58.77

killer.

Looked for REZ and Soul Calibur 2 GCN, but they didn't have. When I asked the dude about the sale, he said it isn't supposed to start for another week and he doesn't have the list, but said that people have been coming with their own printed out lists, so I guess they've already picked my TRU clean :( Guy said a truck was coming in Wednesday and to check back then, but I doubt they'll have any REZ games :(

If anyone can find REZ for the $12.50 price, I'd sure appreciate if you could pick me up a copy. I'll pay $15 shipped. Thanks in advance. Help a fellow GAFer in need!

Still have plenty of other titles! Except REZ, no luck. :(

Has anyone been to the Toys R Us in Reading, PA? I'll probably be getting there in a day or two, but I'm just curious if they actually have anything. Preferrably DDRMax2 for $20.. that'd be sweet..

Cancel the $75 Xbox, they just put the price back to $150. Bastards :|

And it was only for the Clone Wars/Tetris bundle

i'm going tomorrow (technically today), are there any games anyone wants me to look for? My store didn't have many good titles, but they may have pulled some out of the back.

kiryogi said:
Ah whoops forgot, no its 20. I couldn't get any confirmation on the PS2 bundle either, they refused to scan it.
i think bundles and consoles are back to regular price.

i'm compiling a list of associate's names who were especially helpful/hurtful during these sales to be included in letters sent to corporate offices. Sales like this tend to bring out the best and worst of people, associate and customer alike. i'm still pissed about the PN03 incident, and i doubt they'll have another copy.

kiryogi, i got:

Summoner (GC)
Disgaea
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter

i'm about to go out again, PM me your email address and i'll respond when i return.

i thought i got the last copy of PN03, but when i took the empty case to the cashier, she said it was an extra they had, and that. Seems likely, the case seemed like a dummy case anyways. Damn, i really wanted PN03 too.

For those wondering about the PS2 bundle deal, there are 2 different PS2 bundle packs (both coming with System, Extra sony brand controller, sony brand DVD remote, and 2 games). However only ONE of them is on the $115 sale. The pack containing ATV Off Road Fury and Jak and Daxter is the one on sale (Fall '03 pack) The one with Ratchet and Clank instead of ATV is still $230 normal price (Winter '03 pack).

Also every old style GBA (except black beacuse that is on a certain sale in an ad this week) are $35. Even the ones with E-Readers included.

As for misc stuff, Classic brand DVD players $25, Classic 5.1 sound system with DVD player $80, rayovac 4 AA batteries $0.98, tons of action figures, tons of barbie stuff, tons of bikes, basically just tons of stuff around the store. If it is a clearance price (ending in anything but a 9 or a 5) it would be wise to check it.

If you can get a product to a customer automated price scanner they will tell you if it is 50% off. If you can't (like more game sections don't have them), ask the employee to go to his register, hit price referance, scan it, then hit ITEM INFO. That will tell them if it is on it without ringing it up and them giving you a BS answer.

PS: Anybody looking for Fighter Maker 2 (that is a rare one) it is marked as $49.99 yet it is half off. I was suprised on that one. I found that while scanning random stuff all over yesterday (yes I am an employee :D )
