Just beat the prologue. Nightmare run is pretty tough. I would say slightly easier than Reverie. I'm sure it will get easier as I go on like all the others. Just focusing on HP for now.
Prologue done. Hard is probably most balanced for me so far. Have to still think about stuff and positioning, and using a good amt of items when needed. But not cheap enough that I get oneshot from the smallest mistakes. and non-optimal orb placements. I'm probably missing a strategic component in my battles. Like speed buffs and such.
Obvious no surprise that Josette was gonna be the culprit. I know not to ever trust girls with blue/green hair in my LoH games. Also getting a recommendation just from like 2 missions? lol.
I saw that in game, any way to let them know? And the award for the longest textbox goes to:

Yeah, I wonder why GungHo picked this up. They're not particularly great with their track record. So you sell a game for a week Russia then when fans in other regions complain about the price difference, you just stop selling there entirely? How about you just FIX the regional pricing instead?
And canceling steelbook orders because you just didn't start production yet? Amateur hour. I've never seen a publisher want to lose money so bad before.
I dont know I loved in Oshi no Ko.Plays are the worst anime/rpg troupe thing ever
Man, you reminded me Act Age. I prefer that to Oshi no Ko. Too bad the author do something stupid and got the manga cancelled.I dont know I loved in Oshi no Ko.
How far have you made it?I don't know about the whole Gungho issue but the game itself is fucking phenomenal.
You wont believe it! 12 hours in and just finished prologue and start 1st chapter.......that was damn long prologue and I loved every minute of it.How far have you made it?

That's awesome! It took me a bit over 8 hours to finish the prologue. I'm also about 12 hours in and am in the middle of chapter 1. Just got the fourth party member, he was probably my favorite character from the original game. You wont believe it! 12 hours in and just finished prologue and start 1st chapter.......that was damn long prologue and I loved every minute of it.
The characters super charming and I was addicted talking to every NPC every time finishing main story mission.
Been playing exclusively in handheld mode on Switch 2. Because it locks the resolution to 1080p (to match the Switch 2 screen), it maintains a perfect 60fps. The docked issues show up because the output resolution there is 4k, which apparently this game struggles with sometimes.Anyone have this on Switch 2? Seems like a perfect game for it there ...if so, how is it in handheld mode? I've heard docked is pretty bad performance wise but i play mostly handheld. Thanks
Yeah, I also think it's partly Falcom's fault. They always change the publisher for the EN version.Gung-Ho is disgusting but the real culprit here is Falcom. They need to force them. Also they were the ones who chose GH over NIS/Durante for this game.
One thing I hate about all this is that I couldn't buy the game because of crazy regional pricing (not just me, lots of people). I really should pirate the game, play the game and be done with it to show my frustration and leave them peniless from me but I'll wait for a little while just the observe the course of events.
I am really enjoying this game on PC having played around 7 hours of the demo before resuming the save in the release game. Fantastic idea, I really wish more games did this!
My only issue so far has been the translation - I feel the original's was better - and weird way that some cutscenes are partly voice-acted, which is extremely distracting. Why not just have some fully voice-acted dialogue and the rest just as text? Why mix them in this bizarre way? I am kind of used to reading anyway but having text only dialogue with one character voiced is just weird and just draws attention to the lack of voice-acting in a bad way.
Otherwise, this is a charming J-RPG with likeable characters, an interesting story and villains and a beautiful visual style that doesn't push graphical boundaries but still looks fantastic all the same (plus the game runs like a dream without any stuttering or any of that other nonsense we see all too often in modern triple A games).
They did this with every game and quite honest it's the budget, Falcom is like 60 employee's with a gameseries that has a lifetime sales number of currently 9 million units sold across all games, japanese VO's are expensive and Falcom casts big names too, the english publishers do then voice the same lines the jp do with the exception of CS1 and CS2 that have significantly more voiced lines in the English VO.Yea I've noticed the series has been doing this weird half voiced half not thing here and there and it's just distracting more than anything. I think they started doing this with the Daybreak arc. I'd rather just read it all.
Nightmare is starting to get easier and easier as I go on but the battles are still tough just don't have to grind as much if at all as long as I fight everything. At the end of Chapter 1 just trying to make sure I get everything I can before leaving for the next section.
Have about 20+ hrs in the Switch 2 version with about 60/40 docked/undocked play. It looks and runs very well in both docked and undocked at 2160p/60 and 1080p/60, respectively. Though I will say the handheld mode is overall the better experience and has a rock solid 60fps from what I've played while, yes, there will be slight dips docked when there's a lot of geometry to render (5+ characters on-screen/huge city shots) but for most (90%) of the game it's at a stable 60fps, esp in combat.Anyone have this on Switch 2? Seems like a perfect game for it there ...if so, how is it in handheld mode? I've heard docked is pretty bad performance wise but i play mostly handheld. Thanks
Really? I never started noticing it I felt until Daybreak. Maybe support@gunghoonline.com?I saw that in game, any way to let them know?
Aha. ...thanks .. that's great news about handheldBeen playing exclusively in handheld mode on Switch 2. ThanksI have it on Switch 2 and haven't noticed any major issues in either mode. Some minor drops when running around a city with a lot of characters but not nearly enough to hit my threshold for "pretty bad", or even very noticeable at all even. I understand some PC guys really are sticklers for this but I'm coming from largely playing everything on Switch 1 so graphics and performance like this game are a dream come true to me.
Thanks, great impressions...isn't it 4k/30 docked tho?Have about 20+ hrs in the Switch 2 version with about 60/40 docked/undocked play. Could it use a patch? Sure, but it's more than playable in it's current state and it's sad that some people are trying to make it sound like it's some kind of unplayable mess when that's not even remotely the case and looks VERY impressive as one of the few Switch 2 games running @ 4k/60fps
i find myself switching between eng and jpn voices each play session
Nope, It's 60fps in both modes. I think what happened is the eshop was given premature performance info and the developers were able to get it running at 60fps (maybe through use of dynamic resolution/DLSS) and just haven't yet updated the eshop page with the correct information. Thanks, great impressions...isn't it 4k/30 docked tho?
Dang, already secondhand? what's the new price?![]()
GAF should I buy? Y / N

It's been a while, but I would say the game is 95% the same content wise. There are one or two new quests per chapter from what I've read, but I don't remember which ones tbh. Seems to be minor/normal stuff, nothing major.for those that played the original, what new stuff was added in the prologue and 1st chapter? Since they said they added a bunch of 'content' and bigger pathways.
i guess they wanted to make it worth the full price. But I probably would have preferred they only added a little bit and put it up for like $40 or 50 at most.
Nightmare has been doable but the end of chapter 1 boss is destroying me. I'm not sure I'll be able to make it through the game and leveling would be a massive grind with how little xp I'm getting. Going to try and get through it tonight but if I can't I'm dropping the difficulty down.Hard difficulty in this game is no joke, some of the side quest fights really give me a hard time.
But man I love the combat in this game!
I had big trouble with that fight too. I made a few attempts each night & read forums. Basically I had to have 1 person earthguard, 2 people heal, 1 person attack. Also spread out as much as possible but stay in heal/earthguard range. Also used all vials on Estelle & Joshua. On the successful attempt I took the 2 young ones down at the same time but if they were able to attack after that it would've been game over. I had 3 characters left then with moderate to low hp. The bad part is you can't leave the area then. The final fight in the fortress in chapter one...Jesus. I'm playing on normal and that was almost too much. Beat it after 5 tries and by the skin of my teeth. Too much (AoE) damage, too much hp, they constantly counterattack and just when you think you have a chance they each have their god mode. I have no idea how people are expected to beat that on nightmare.
