Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Looks like it's real time combat now? I tried the original on Vita and the combat felt super slow to me, maybe I like this one better.

You know, I've tried to play the original a bunch of times and just couldn't get into it. I feel like I want to enjoy this game. Maybe the remake will finally click with me.

OMG! It's here. Loved 1st and 2nd, still have to finish the 3rd and the rest of the series. It's been a long time since I played those, so I'm planning to replay the original games. I'm also worried something may get censored and that is another reason to replay the originals for me.

Nice. I was thinking to play the old one

Really like the artstyle. The graphic looks quite different from other Falcom games. Is it a new engine?

Do we know this is how these things work? I thought money and agreements were exchanged and took place prior to Directs. I would assume the amount of money you're spending dictates whether you get a spotlight vs a sizzle reel placement.

Very likely the new engine they're using for the Daybreak games.

I'll play this wherever I can get 60 FPS. I don't want a super old game remade on a new engine that results in poor performance on a console like Switch. It loses it's luster for me if the performance isn't there.

Probably just thinking about the market in each region? Is Trails really big in the US? I don't think so. Trails is massive in Japan and got a proper 1 minute trailer

It's a remake with most the modern QOL features so unless you just didn't like the story/characters you should enjoy the Remake

Like I said, I don't know exactly who and what determines the placement an announcement gets in a Direct or State of Play or other announcement showcase handled by first-party platform holders. I assume money changes hands at some point, unless it's predicated entirely on favoritism of the people putting the shows together, which definitely doesn't sound right. Or the "brand power" of the game.

FC coming out means SC is pretty much guaranteed. Not sure if they are going to remake 3...

I am at the beginning of Azure, and at this rate, the remakes will catch up with me before long. lol... :(

Looks like they've made some good improvements with their new engine. Both the characters and the environment look better than in Trails through Daybreak. The same goes for the VFX for spells, etc.

Holy shit, this has been rumoured for so long it's fantastic to finally see it.

Man they did it dirty though to finally show it in that manner, a quick clip and not even a dedicated section for it? Jaysus that's poor form.

If that's the basic Fire Bolt art shit will get ridiculous lol

Looks fantastic though, art animation is leagues ahead of the current stuff in Reverie / Daybreak.

No way any 2025 game doesn't work on switch 2 right?? I'm holding off on any new titles on switch because I'm worried they will make us buy a different version!

oh thank god. My friend at work randomly let me burrow Cold Steel III and IV and knew nothing about it. And it blew me away, I was unaware of the series, and was the kind of jrpg I was looking for. Finished III and IV over the summer. Then purchased and played Trails from Zero and Azure during the release on the Switch, and those ended up being my most favorite set yet. Then played Trails thru Reverie and the experience of finally understanding what's going on is great.
Behind on starting Daybreak, but happy to have the opportunity to jump into this early entry more modern QoL features.

Nice.
I started playing the original several years ago and it didn't quite click with me. But I've always thought about going back and giving it a second chance.
This seems like the a great way to do so

Is this the first part alone?
I loved that game on PSP, I waited for years for the localization of the second chapter but that game was so boring and repetitive with none of the well paced plot of the first one that I gave up.

Best 3 seconds of the Direct

Well, this is my first post here and the opening goes to this thread and I'm really happy about it :messenger_sunglasses:

I originally played Sky series back in 2020 AFTER the first 2 Cold Steel games. Because at that time I didn't know that these games are connected and I'm shameful that I didn't know that. So even playing them after Cold Steel games I loved original games (which they are inferior to first 2 Cold Steel games in nearly every aspect). But they were that good for me. Loved the Sky Trilogy.

And now this. This is such a good time to be a fan of Trails games and universe. We will probably see Crosbell duology remakes in the future as well.

F... I just got the original in my backlog lol... I guess I'll wait for this one instead, I'm not playing in a mood for playing games for a while anyway

1) is this being done by falcom directly?

2) is this switch exclusive, or just one of those games that is announced for switch and later revealed to be on PS4?
