Triple H |OT| February Wrasslin

I was hoping to get Sam to add it to the OP for March, but we could do a WrassleGaf Meet-up thread also. I wouldn't want to veil it as a Miami meet-up because A) that place is smallish and B) I would feel like a heel to non-wrasslegaffers.

Regardless of what you decide to do, take a camera. This needs to be documented and added to the WrassleGaf lore right next to Midnight Wrasslegaf.

Lol, I just tried calling La Perrada de Edgar to find out the largest group they can hold and it might not be the best choice. I actually couldn't even get an answer because A) they had music in the background playing too loud and B) the guy that answered the phone didn't speak English. So yeah, I'm sadly striking that one off the list for our group. I still plan on hitting it over the weekend though, but I don't want anyone in our group to potentially hit a language barrier ordering food.

Hmm, how would I get into the TNA tapings if I wanted to go this next week? Thinking about taking a trip to Orlando/Miami.

To enter the IMPACT WRESTLING Zone:
Park in the Universal Orlando® Resort parking garages and enter Universal CityWalk®; Proceed to the Sharp AQUOS Theatre (Blue Man Group). Head around to the theatre to the right, and follow the TNA signs to Soundstage 21.

Also send an e-mail to TVaudience@tnawrestling.com for the "VIP" line.

Edit: Here is a copy/paste from one of the VIP e-mails I have:

Get an early start if you can and pick up your numbered ticket!
A Universal representative will be at the Studio Audience center for in park guests (located at the front of Universal Studios, just turn right after the turnstiles) starting at 9 AM for the IMPACT Wrestling shows and at the Blue Man Group area for non-park guests , starting at at 10:00 AM for the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday shows. They will be handing out numbered tickets until 4:00 PM. If you are able to get there early, please stop by and get your numbered ticket to assure your place in line. You will then be able to enjoy your day in the park or City Walk and come back at 5 PM for the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday taped show and regain your place in line.

Park Guests:
To get to IMPACT Wrestling, just walk straight in Universal Studios, past the Universal Store and turn left after Jimmy Neutron into "Music Plaza". Attendants will be out front to guide you to the IMPACT wrestling line. It is generally the line near the stage.

Non-Park Guests:
Just park in the Universal Studios Garage ($15 prior to 6 PM) and walk through City Walk to the Blue Man Group area (behind the Hard Rock Cafe.) You will see our IMPACT Wrestling signs in the Blue Man Group area to guide you. Please make sure you get in VIP line. From there, you will be escorted into the "in park" VIP line.

Time:
VIP's must arrive by 5 PM for the IMPACT Wrestling tapings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Those hot dogs look so good. I'm hitting that place up no matter what. A bar might be a better spot depending on group size.

That area is so shitty for restaurants/bars but I don't want to go so far from the hotel/venue people have to get a cab so south beach is out.

What's the opinion on the possibility of any of the following wrestlers returning to WWE:

JBL
Carlito
MVP
RVD

I do think the talent pool at the WWE is thin and wish they were snatching up talent left and right like they were doing to compete against WCW, but it's all so stale with the lack of a in-depth roster.

Carlito won't come back. Too lazy.
MVP is happy in Japan and doesn't like how the WWE neuters his moves.
RVD...I dunno.

RVD is the only one remotely possible. MVP is happy in Japan, Carlito is wherever he is and JBL is happy fishing.

WWE could really use a great heel like JBL.

The RVD formula can stay in TNA.

MVP should come back but only on certain conditions.

Carlito does not want to come back.

If I'm MVP I wouldn't want to. Where would they stick me? In a feud with a careless worker like The Miz? Exchange some wins for about three months with Jack Swagger or Kofi Kingston? All in while having my moveset get squashed by Vince McMahon? I don't think so.

They aren't changing until they start caring about the prestige of the titles and quit log jamming somebody like Triple H over every talent in the business.

Well damn, outside of stealing fighters from TNA, who outside of the WWE is a nameworthy (not Kevin Nash) to bring back to help put over upcoming stars such as Ziggler, Rhodes, Barrett and the like? Undertaker, HHH and even Big Show and Kane are on their way out.

Any likelihood of bringing back Rikishi to help the Uso brothers get over with the crowd?

I honestly felt like MVP, Carlito, and Mr. Kennedy were such missed opportunities. Guys with the IT factor thrown to the waste side.

WWE should have been using their own stars and putting over the younger talent. You know, creative booking instead of the sameoldshit routine we often see.

I'd like to see MVP grace Ring Ka King. What a great show it is. The love of wrestling.

Well if I am MVP, I think it would be great to feud with the invigorated Jericho, new-look Ziggler and red-hot Bryan. WWE may not put him in those feuds, but in terms of "fantasy" I think those would be great feuds in terms of wrestling and even on-the-mic performances.

And you are right on the second affirmation -- I'm desperate for the WWE to return to its former glory. HHH/Taker feud continues to make me want to leave the show again and come back 2-3 years later to see what is happening. I stopped caring when John Cena became so intertwined with every major championship and returned to watching WWE when The Rock did his return last year. I may end up taking another hiatus from the show depending on Wrestlemania.

Not a fan of RVD? Even if so, I do think he has enough credibility to help put over Rhodes and the upcoming stars of the WWE.

It takes years for the WWE to build a star properly and they often screw it up when it comes time for them to move from the mid-card to the main event. While he isn't an example of the previously mentioned, Brodus Clay bewilders me. He goes from an troll character that put off many, but after a few weeks, won the crowds over (read from reports, never been at a live show with to witness the crowd reactions) to then be removed from the show as if the WWE couldn't parlay his newfound fanbase into even a, dare I say, tag-team participant while his green wears off. I was cold on his gimmick, but after a few weeks, I came to appreciate something different than the same big tough guy act every other WWE wrestler personifies.

I often enjoy older wrestlers putting over the younger stars since it helps me identify with that wrestler. I'd much rather Cody Rhodes or Ziggler get a win over and feud with JBL or RVD than diminish Wade Barrett or Sheamus.

They had their opportunities with Punk/Ziggler and Barrett/Orton and in the end it made both Ziggler and Barrett look like losers by getting beaten so bad. It use to be really frustrating, but I blow it off nowadays because it is so customary by WWE standards.

EDIT: Who is Morgan's partner there? Crimson? Gunner? So goddam generic.

Well that's what I am getting at. The WWE doesn't have too many wrestlers who are there to push the younger stars to become the new faces of the program while solidifying them as legitimate wrestlers. The list is short:

Kane: was used with Cena with little to no results besides to make Cena look strong going into Wrestlemania.

Big Show: he did well to make Bryan look stronger. He may be doing the same with Rhodes soon, although he's been prone lately to injure stars and has a limited move set.

Mark Henry: he's not going to become anymore popular and is often injured. He can often make faces and heels look great, so he's an asset and will become an even more important asset when Undertaker/HHH/Big Show retire, should he stay healthy to outlast them.

All three previous fighters are similar with their big physique and work production, with Kane the more agile of the three.

HHH: Not going to happen. He'd rather suck up all the microphone time and renew an Undertaker feud that was never asked for.

Undertaker: Has one or two more feuds at best after the HHH Match, if he even fights again.

Christian: He'll still be going strong, even though he never did much at the main event level so seeing him put over younger stars won't do as much as say an individual getting the best of Henry or Big Show.

Chris Jericho: He should be sticking around for a few more years unless he gets bored again.

Rey Mysterio: Still capable of winning over new fans and will forever be a face, so young and upcoming heels can surely draw a lot of heat by feuding with him, should he not be injury prone in the future.

I'd dare say that's it in terms of veterans who have made a lasting name in WWE infamy to help build younger stars. 8 stars, with 2 who are inactive fighters, 3 that are giants/big men and 3 smaller fighters who can still put entertaining battles.

I'm discounting Booker T, William Regal, Jerry Lawler and Goldust as they are barely used, although Booker T was used excellently to help Rhodes have somewhat of better competition.

Ok so, trying to determine a headcount here for Mania, I've got:

djsandman + 1
rvd2kewl
Breakyboy
Perspicacity
krae_man +1
ZeroRay
BillRiccio

Did I miss anyone or any possible plus ones?

JBL's unable to go anymore.
Carlito- slim because he sucks
MVP- slim because he's happy in Japan and he's getting old
RVD- retiring soon I think

The roster doesn't have to be as thin as it is now- you'll likely see some additions after WM.
