I feel like starting a David Otunga thread due to his recent winning streak.

"David Otunga: African American, Harvard Grad... WWE great?"

Oh yeah, beef was cutting some great promos on me leading up to the second avatar bet.

Is there a version with subtitles see I can follow the promos? It looks interesting (from the 10 minutes I've watched of the 1st episode). Crowd is hot for EVERYTHING.

Most of the storytelling is in-ring, and there are enough English speaking wrestlers who get promo time that you don't need subtitles. It all starts to come together without translation.

DID EUGENE AS A DOCTOR JUST GIVE THE INDIAN HORNSWAGGLE STEROIDS?

WHAT DID I JUST WATCH HAPPEN?
Wait until you see
Abyss's intro.

The most exciting thing about Ring Ka King being awesome is that their head booker, Dave Lagana, is taking over Russo's job at TNA-prime
Given the size of their respective viewing audiences, taking over Russo's duties with "TNA-Prime" should be considered a demotion. It's the equivalent of breaking out by writing compelling storylines for Monday Night RAW and being rewarded with a promotion to FCW.

If it were me, I'd rather stick to the big leagues in India where people will actively seek out my product.

Wait till the ending of the show it's amazing. Someone that can't be done anywhere else.

MY GOD that amazing. Had RKK been the WWE, those final shots would've been regarded as all time great moments. Steiner and
Abyss were CLEARING entire sections of the arena with pure heat.
I remember hearing about this a few weeks ago, and it did not disappoint. It's like watching wrestling in a time machine. No one gets those reactions anymore.

This RKK love is pretty funny. It's basically like loving an underground hipster rock band and calling it the best out there. It's a way for people to rip on Raw while trying to come off as smarky. The RKK crowd is awesome; the promotion itself is nothing compared to Raw. Sorry. It's 90% crowd, 10% promotion.

Totally agree. What kind of idiots can enjoy wrestling without the soap opera antics of Slutty Eve, the loveable idiocy of Zack Ryder, the superhuman vanilla-ness of John Cena, the supernatural psychological analysis of Kane, the non-existent tag division, Michael Cole's witty commentary, Jerry Lawler's remarkable boredom, The Miz's obscenely orange spray tan, the Diva's weekly debacle, Irish storytime with Sheamus', the Mediocre Midcard Mob™, on and on and on.

RKK is so hipster. How dare other wrestling companies try to be wrestling companies.

I have only watch 2 episode of ring ka king so far and i am enjoying it. the story are simple there is a tournament and i love tournaments so right now its fastly becoming my favorite wrestling promotion

RKK has the crowd and sheer simplicity to make it stand out from anything else - WWE is convoluted and ridiculous at times, while TNA seem often intent on outdoing them in both regards, so I can see why RKK might appeal to a lot of people sour on the current WWE product. For me, the wrestling in RKK isn't really good enough to keep me entertained, but at least the focus is on wrestling, while compared to TNA, where it doesn't matter how good the wrestling is while the storylines are so haphazard, RKK is infinitely more appealing. WWE, on the other hand, dangle the occasional good wrestling match to their fans like the proverbial carrot on the stick, while they continue to pretend that it's NOT the whole point of their product and that people really DO tune in for their poorly written, poorly acted soap opera entertainment shtick peddled by guys with so little on-camera charisma or personality that, even if the material was well written, it would still come across as hokey and embarrassing.

In short, fuck yo sports entertainment.

The thing it can be done in India because they never had wrestling their before. Everywhere else has had for decades so they know what to expect. If this happened in America people would be sued.

Also, Magnus is great. WWE should look at him when his contract runs out. Great look, good mike skills can get you a long way.

edit: Also, whoever writes Daniel Bryan promos should be the lead writer of both shows because with his help Daniel Bryan is one of the WWE's top heels.

I agree that the actual wrestling isn't going to knock anyone's socks off, I said last week that there hasn't been a single match better than, maybe, 3 stars. But the rest is so simple and effective that I'm fine with it. At this point, I'd take 40 minutes of RKK with that crazy ending over Smackdown which was like an hour of garbage with a great final 20 minutes of Punk/Bryan. I won't even comment on Raw where I've had to, quite literally, suffer through one of the worst angles in years.

just how large is the wrestling audience in india? is vince going to ignore it and and we can add thats another thing he failed grab.
Considering Khali's return, it's safe to say he hasn't conceded that market just yet.

And RKK is a perfectly fine and fun alternative, no need to hate on it. More successful promotions are always welcome.

Shame O Mac works at some Chinese internet broadcast company now right?

Maybe Vince could convince him to make some Wrestling programming in China.

I would watch pro wrestling where most of the roster was ex Hong Kong film stunt men.

...

I need this.

Im telling ya China and India are huge.

I bet TNA and WWE could have a smaller wrestling organization making content for each country with there own rosters and storylines.

Plus then they should ship a few WWE guys there every few months as a special guest to spice things up+ shipping people from there over to the US shows.

The biggest problem would probably be having the high ups in WWE not seeing at as just another developmental group but as a completely separate revenue stream then the normal WWE programming.

Plus I dont think there are many Chinese wrestlers.... But yeah like I said... Stunt men should do.
