Assuming it's not a crazy recession but the stagnation predicted by some doom and gloom analysts, I think he may be economic-proof actually. Some leaders in Canadian history have been shown to be economic-proof and this Trudeau may end up being one.

No from ppl in the west coast definitely, so far he is still as useless as Harper.

Is there a way an uneducated Mexican can migrate to Canada?

I've lived in Canada for six years now, if you're under 30 you can look into the reciprocal youth movement work permits Canada has with countries around the world

unsure if they have one with Mexico

I'm from the West Coast and I completely disagree.

All of these items matter to me on the West Coast that Harper wasn't addressing or doing something wrong:

- Syrian Refugees
- Infrastructure Spending (commitments are made in budget for Broadway line and Surrey LRT)
- Citizenship Act Changes
- Repairing Canadian Reputation
- Environmental commitments in Paris

As a couple quick examples.

Should be a lot easier now since Trudeau made it easier for Mexican's recently.
It's awesome, as some of my family that lives in Mexico can now visit me a lot easier. :)

Really hated how Harper (Previous PM) was treating Mexican's.

Awesome. I guess we will never get that here in America. We did get the rainbow colors on the white house though, should have seen the rage from the right. Much salt.

Dude's amazing, remember when they asked him why his cabinet is gender neutral

Harper was a big dick for instating a travel visa on Mexican nationals.

Trudeau did good repealing that stupid travel visa.

Not anymore my friend. Thanks anyway

Yeah. I recently knew it was a lot easier. I remember before harper you only needed your passport to enter the country (Mexican issued passport, that is).

I should look more on that.

"H-hey guys, remember me? I was in the official opposition! I marched in the pride parades too!"

ah the Chameleon who shopped around for a Federal Party after being bummed from Provincial politics after throwing a hissy fit at his former Provincial boss

what did he say again? ''sell water in bulk''? or ''Margaret Thatcher should be hailed for her wind of economic liberalism across the UK?''

hahahaha
Kicking a man while he's down... Damn, you guys are cold.
We can't possibly love Trudeau anymore than we currently do. It's all downhill from here.
This is true.
Except for aboriginals, and petty Provincial piss contests based around language and other stupid issues.
Who?

I don't have a lot of issues with the hold harper has put on the refugees review honestly. I always believed in putting your own resources on your own people first. Until we have 0% proverty in the country (impossible), we are not obligated to do any if that. Just like how I feed my family first, if I have extra cash I will donate to charity.

The fast track 700m Infustrcture fund to AB was promised by Harper irc. While I dunno if its even a good idea, China did the samething building roads, airports to boost their economy some years ago, those are only short term boost as they are now left with lots deserted road and airports that have high maintenance cost and debts that they can never pay off by themselves. I can see Canada ended up with the exact same problems especially when our population is so low.

C51 was a dumb idea I agree.

I never like harper but the so far JT is just as useless.

I've heard that Canada has around 150k illegals but they haven't been tracked. I also know that it is easier to attain citizenship if you already live here. I know of a guy who crossed from the U.S. border a few months ago (from Somalia) and he is getting his citizenship. I don't know if any of this would work for you though. Do you have family here?

Harper was actively sabotaging international climate change talks, just on that one issue alone makes Trudeau significantly less useless

JT is doing more to help Canadians be proud to be one then Harper ever did. That means something. Lets give him a little more time before saying he's as useless as Harper. Thats just crazy talk.

EDIT: After checking that page posted above

Open work permit (Outside Canada)

You may be eligible to come to Canada to work with an open work permit.

Huh. Wonder what that means.

Exactly. Trudeau is making it so we can be proud of our country again, which is fitting considering his father basically created the Canadian identity.

Nah. That's Lester B. Pearson with assists by Tommy Douglas.

Edit: Though let's be clear. Conservative Canadians were incredibly happy and proud of Stephen Harper. It's just that the majority of Canadians hated Harper and so there's more pride with Trudeau now then there was before.

Very un-Canadian way of thinking. Very naive thought process behind it.

Open work permit is a work permit is not job-specific. You can apply for one, but it does come with a fee ($100 CDN).

An open work permit is a work permit that is not job-specific. Because it is not job-specific, you will not need the following when you apply for your work permit:

  • a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment and Social Development Canada; or
  • proof that an employer has submitted an offer of employment through the Employer Portal and paid the employer compliance fee.

You can answer a few questions to find out what immigration programs you can apply for and how to submit an online or paper application.

Is it actually any easier to immigrate from the U.S. under JT's government? I've passed the skilled worker test pretty easily (more so now that I work in software tech QA for a major company), but never could find a sponsoring employee. Pretty serious about moving there, would love to know how feasible it is.

Have you actually donated to charity or volunteered? Does canada not face the issue of an increasingly ageing population?

True. I can't forget those guys. I hope we are in an era like that one.

I can't answer your question but Canada has a lot of software companies, specifically in Vancouver and Montreal. I think, per capita, it is either the highest or close to the highest in the world.

Big 'C' Conservatives were happy with Harper as long as he kept them in power. Small 'c' conservatives were just as embarrassed as the rest of us (though maybe not for the same reasons).

Charity every year and foodbank, my last employer ask all employees to work at the food bank every remembrance day where others are on day off. Doesnt sound like much I am more than happy to do so. Aging population will be a major issue in Canada, but not as bad as Japan for sure.

Cool. Still need a few big issues to resolve down here (Money, as always, being the bigger one) but doesn't seems that hard. Or at least not in theory.

One of the more positive things the Trudeau government is doing that I highly approve of is reinstating health coverage for immigrants/refugees (who are usually poor and resource-less) this April. You know, the coverage that Harper cut.

It takes more than one person to change something as big as the economy...

But if Trudeau is in charge when that happens, we're gonna have to build this guy a statue.

Just curious, I'm personally not generous but I do volunteer.

Replacement migration is exactly what helps with an ageing population, unless your country can attract desired immigrants en masse it needs people of all kinds to immigrate.

Do you think that immigrants should get better healthcare than Canadian citizens?

[ ] No, immigrants should not have access to healthcare that Canadians do not.
[ ] Yes, immigrants should get better care than other Canadians.
I'm not sure what you mean. Some Canadians have a problem with our native population.

That was the joke. I was trolling.

Don't forget about the Ottawa region, which used to be called Silicon Valley North.

Especially Vancouver. :p
There actually aren't a lot of Mexicans here, now that I think about it.
What other world leaders have marched in a gay pride?
Danish PM was first. That's all I know.

Its true, as I am never against sponsered refugees but the whole process is rushed and the government doesn't even have clear direction on what to do.

I know the Swedish PM did it in 2014. Current PM has done it as well, but that was before he took office.

How do you mean? The whole process appears to have gone really smoothly and the communities have welcomed them with open arms (even rural Manitoba). I'm not aware of any issues.

Not only is Trudeau an incredibly handsome charismatic leader, but he also strongly supports LGBT rights and marches in pride parades, Canada hit the jackpot with him.
