"In accordance with our great nation's history, and with special deference to its colonial origins, let us close our borders to the filthy foreign rabble."

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" *

I want to see the rest of the GOP candidates respond in turn. This is a game of chicken where everyone has already crashed and we're just comparing/gloating over who got hurt the worst.

This is going to be a brilliant wedge against the other GOP primary candidates.

Who could dare be MORE extreme?

Who is willing to admit some muslims are ok, actually? Or that immigration is one of our strengths, etc?

well, its still not worse than rounding up 11 million people and extraditing them. so far he hasn't beat that one

Internment camps are the only way to top this.

He is actually calling for a "temporary" ban until the gov't can figure out a better way of screening, not permanent. It's still stupid but I figure if the guy is going to be attacked then it's best to at least be accurate.

Whoa now, it seems pretty unamerican to sympathize with the ENEMY.

Does Trump not know where the hatred comes from? Seriously? Is he that dense about foreign policy?

He's that dense about everything.

The man is a walking collection of racist, ignorant GOP arguments. The instant you put what he says into any kind of real-world context the entire thing comes crashing down.

His shtick is getting tired. He's not getting any additional supporters and most everyone already knows what a shitstain of a human he is. Protracting his campaign serves no purpose. I'm not even interested in him staying "just to destroy the GOP", because the GOP has been in shambles since 2008.

I don't understand. I mean, at best, he is a competent troll having the time of his life. At worst, he is a bigotred, racist nationalist who actually thinks all the terrible stuff he's claiming. Either way I see a lot of people supporting him simply because he's not bothered to be politically correct. How does this make any sense? Do people really just vote for the sake of screwing over the opposition? Or do people really think that getting Trump elected will lead to less sitcom and corrupt politics? I'm not an American so I don't know how bad the state of USA politics actually is, but there are some poeple in America that I respect a lot who support Trump.

He is legit trolling the GOP.

I don't know whether to be impressed or just shake my head in disbelief.

Are we sure Clinton didn't ask him to screw the GOP up?

Yeah well, if he had put a timetable or some kind of goal in place. What the fuck does until we figure out what's going on mean?

I'd love to hear how he thinks he could even do this. I can't believe this guy is for real. He's almost become some sort of comic book bad guy with his evil schemes.

The GOP have been gunshy about saying anything positive about minorities since McCain was loudly boo'd not only for saying Obama was not a muslim, but a 'good man.'

Yes. Think about our Government shut downs. No one cares about whats right, or productive, or healthy.

Its a team thing at this point. We want our team to win! People aren't educated about any issues or any content. They vote on blurbs. This is what trump is highlighting, and its a devastating problem for any real political discourse. This is what the GOP gets for pandering to insane racist religious bigots.

But, its past the point of just watching someone get their comeuppance. Its dangerous thinking, its already getting violent, and we are seeing this all unravel right before our very own eyes.

It's been said ad nauseum since the beginning of the campaign, but since it's gone on this long it's actually interesting to consider it satire. He's exposing conservatives.

I don't know if it's necessarily satire, per say, but there's no way in hell he fervently believes even half the shit he spouts. He knows you go hard right to win the republican nomination, so he's just testing this shit.

The key is that he probably doesn't actually give a flying fuck about being president. That's what holds back a lot of candidates. They think about the general. If he doesn't really care if he's president and more just wants the fame, why not?

After witnessing two terms of childish obstructionism and hysterical bile from the Republican party, yes, I'm convinced that many people really are that petty.
