Trump to host Trump re-election fundraiser at Trump hotel

President Donald Trump has chosen his Washington hotel as the site for his first re-election fundraiser.

Campaign director Michael Glassner confirmed the location to The Associated Press on Wednesday. He calls it a premier and convenient choice.

Trump officially kicked off his re-election campaign on Inauguration Day by filing Federal Election Commission paperwork, making it the earliest such effort by a sitting president.

Through the end of March, Trump’s campaign had raised more than $7 million through small donor appeals and the sale of merchandise. The June 28 fundraiser in Washington will be for larger donors.

The Trump Organization completed a $200 million renovation of the government property weeks before Election Day. Trump has since distanced himself from the finances of the hotel, but critics say conflicts remain.

How much will Trump Organization, currently ran by EasyD's sons, bill Trump 2020 campaign for this event?

Why is he focusing on reelection this early? It won't help him much against the eventual democratic nominee.

Lets get some protesters up there! And its really sad a sitting President this early in their term fund raising for their reelection 3 1/2 years away.

The idiotic Republican base will take care of the latter part.

Trump likes to be in front of adoring crowds. Doing the actual job of being the President, not so much.

- It makes him (and his family) money
- It gets him out of the White House - a place he hates
- It gets him away from doing his job - which he also hates
- He needs to be surrounded by people who love and adore him because of his fragile ego

- He needs to pay his lawyers

Can't take campaign donations directly for personal use? No problem! Just hire your own business and charge out the ass.

This is where the "winner" of his grassroots contest he announced a few days ago is going to get their free hotel room, dinner, and chance to meet the president.

It's the only way for him. have you see him during any speech compared to his rallies. People eat that shit up and he's so in the zone it doesn't matter lol

If Mueller can't slap him around for such obvious profiteering (or force Congress to do slap him) I never want to hear an American talk down the democratic institutions of another country anymore. Not even a bit.

We got rid of Wulff for peanuts (even if I don't miss him) in comparison to this obvious fuckery.

Trump is not the problem. People letting him do this and supporting all his nonsense are THE real culprits

Don't forget that he did not really self-fund his campaign, he only loaned his campaign money. So this money can be used to pay back those loans.

Also to why so early:
Well, he might not be president anymore next year.

You know, his donors would probably be better off just burning their money in a big pile. At least that way the money would generate heat, which is more than it would do sitting in Trump's bank account until after he dies.

Because he's a lunatic. He still talks about winning the election just about every time he makes any public statement.

fundraiser at his hotel...

So its win win he keeps all the money lol he can even only inject 10% of the fundraised in his campaign and keep the rest for his hotel smh

Sounds like a great time to protest. And if you're a tourist, the perfect time to meet a president just by staying at one of his premier hotels.

How stupid do you have to be to buy in again on a President who still hasn't successfully delivered anything he promised you?

Not a rhetorical question, I actually want to see where the cutoff is on this and if maybe it can be used as a litmus test for college entrance examinations or employment interviews.

Remember when people bitched about Obama's reelection campaigns, ones that were actually close to the election, for ignoring his job as president?
