TV Shows With Banned Episodes?

This thread is, as the title suggests, is to discuss TV shows with banned episodes. The only one I know about off the top of my head is Seinfeld's "Puerto Rican Day" episode. I remember seeing it live and saw it a few times in syndication but a few years ago there was an outcry to have it banned. The reason it was offensive? Kramer accidentally burns a Puerto Rico flag.

What other shows do you know of have banned episodes?

pokemon-misty-boobs.jpg

Gargoyles ("Deadly Force")
TaleSpin ("Last Horizons", "Flying Dupes")
Family Guy ("Partial Terms of Endearment")
Pokemon ("Beauty and the Beach", "The Legend of Dratini", "Electric Soldier Porygon", "The Ice Cave", "Shaking Island Battle! Barboach VS Whiscash!!")
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command ("Supernova")
Married With Children ("I'll See You in Court")
The Twilight Zone ("The Encounter")

There was an episode of Star Trek: TNG that the BBC wouldn't show as there was some mention of the IRA or something in it, can't exactly remember what was said.

I remember not seeing "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" in Australia for a few years after 9/11. Was it "banned" over there and do they play it today? Do they have Simpsons reruns over there?

Edit: 'kay, just read at wiki that it was taken off air for a few years but is now back in syndication.

It was a pretty crap episode, Crusher focused and it had them having one of those 'Well fighting for freedom is good, but killing innocents sucks...you MAKE UP YOUR MIND audience at home' conversations

"Banned" is kind of a misleading term, as there is no organization that is doing the banning (at least in the US). It's just whatever network that airs the show skipping over episodes, either on the first airing or in syndication. They're almost always available on the DVD sets, or when another channel gets the syndication rights, or when the issue is no longer so sensitive.

Cowboy Bebop had a few episodes skipped over in its first US cycle due to 9/11 over-sensitivity, but they're all shown regularly now.

An whole fucking ton of incredibly-not-PC Looney Tunes don't get shown on teleivision anymore. Racist war propaganda primarily, or ones that are just really mean-spirited, and some Speedy Gonzales, I think?

Is this real? Would someone, if they were so inclined, be able to find this and watch online?
It's a real episode, but as far as I know was never dubbed in English.
The Jynx episodes however were banned at least after their initial airings.

people need to give the reasons why they were banned. I'm guessing Family Guy because of the abortion, and one of the pokemons due to the seizures.

There is an xfiles episode that is banned from tv. It's called "House" or something like that. It is a fucking awesome creepy episode about a mutated inbred family. (oh, this episode was banned cause its so fucked up. You want to watch the episode though)

To be more precise:

"Beauty and the Beach" - Gag breasts as seen above.

"The Legend of Dratini" - Firearms used by warden in Safari Zone... hey, where did Ash get those 40 Tauros?

"Electric Soldier Porygon" - Risk of seizure from the explosion caused by Pikachu's destroying of a missle. Porygon takes the fall for Pikachu.

"The Ice Cave" - Jinx in all her glorious blackface.

"Shaking Island Battle! Barboach VS Whiscash!!" - Banned in Japan and subsequently overseas. Plot is about a catfish causing earthquakes. Seen as in bad taste in light of recent earthquakes in Japan.

The only ones I know about the Pokemon and Twilight Zone episodes. Beauty and the Beach was banned because of James' fake boobs, The Legend of Dratini had a lot of gun play in it, Electric Soldier Porygon was the one that caused seizures, The Ice Cave had Jynx in it, Shaking Island Battle! Barboach VS Whiscash!! happened right around the time of some earthquakes in Japan and they thought it would be in poor taste to air it and just never got back around to it. The Twilight Zone episode was because of racial issues.

edit: beaten like Ash in the Indigo League =(

That would be Season 4's "Home". That episode was intense.

I thought it was only one scene in an episode that was removed from the western translation? Anyway, there definitely was one full episode where the English version was completely banned. It was based in the Safari zone and centred around Dratini. The problem was it featured a heavy use of guns (hard to believe that it would be considered fine in Japan but had to be outlawed in the US due to that).

Edit: Oh, and the Porygon epilepsy episode as well.

BatB got aired as a cut-down version (without James' fake boobs), Dratini because of the warden shooting a shotgun at everyone, Porygon was the seizure ep and is banned everywhere (Porygon2 and Z are the only Pokemon never to appear in the show, probably because of this), Ice Cave had black Jynx around the time they were changing it to purple, Whishcash was because of a real-life earthquake in Japan shortly before airing.

Of these, I believe only ESP and Whishcash are banned in Japan.

Ahh, to be a Serebii addict...

EDIT: Epically beaten :(

I had no idea that episode is banned; I've watched it so many times. Not by choice, just happened to catch it re airing so many times. I can see why it's banned since it's messed up. But when did they finally pull the trigger to ban it?

talking about PPGs

I remember seeing a episode, where bubble's hair turns into a chicken leg and then something controversial happens

I dont remember the name of the episode and only remember that part.

anyone know that episode? it been YEARS, how i remember that, i dunno...

I believe the Takashi Miike episode of Masters of Horror (Imprint) didn't air in USA. It has abortions (or infanticide, can't remember) and graphic torture involving needles.

That is the first episode of the series. I only remember bubbles going berserk towards the end of the episode.

The was the "true" pilot. Several Easter Eggs are contained in that episode (The Townsville Mall backdrop is used extensively in Aqua Teen Hunger Force).

Meat Fuzzy Lumpkins

EDIT: Now I remember what you consider controversial. :lol :lol

I think in some regions it has made its way back into syndication, but as someone living in NJ I haven't really seen it aired. I do have it on the season 9 DVD set, though. :)

Yeah I watched it the other day off the DVD and realized how long it'd been since I'd seen it because I'm fairly sure I haven't seen it pop upon TV in Atlanta in quite some time.

Also this ep. of The PowerPuff Girls is banned, possibly for supposed socioeconomic/political innuendo contained in this LEGENDARY song. The song starts in the 3rd video, so you may start to skip this link and watch the ep.

See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey
See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey 2
See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey 3

That's a surprisingly deep cartoon show. Although, imo, the seizure-inducing effects seem a more likely candidate for as to why the episode was banned, though.

Anyway, I loved the lesbian jokes in that Cow and Chicken episode with the bikers.

Apparently it was, following 9/11, owing to the prominent use of the WTC in the episode.

If that the one with their car towed from the front of WTC in it, then that has aired in NYC area recently. (I live in NYC)
