I hate this country. I really do.
What's lovely, is that they took into account that someone MIGHT let off a round, which is the reason for the body armor. Oh, and it's cold outside. Hence the face mask.
But yes. Anyone would have walked away from this, because of the superb training of this suburban Detroit police department. Simple catch and release after confiscating this:
Mass shooting scenario? Possible terrorists? Nah.

These two idiots need a felony charge of some kind. Remove their ability to carry a gun.
I'm not even a police officer and if I had had my kids with me and saw two people dressed like this walk into a public place...even I might would drop them where they stood.
That's some restraint for the Police to not shoot them.

Huh. A lot of people are implying race only matters when you can prove it matters.
Sorry to burst your bubble folks but race always matters. Until we suddenly gain the ability to opt out of this thing we had absolutely no say in it will always matter. To say otherwise is naive, possibly leveraging your own privilege against the daily experiences of those who suffer the most due to being born the wrong skin color.

Holy shit. Racism aside, how in the hell are those guys even alive? If I were an officer and someone came into the station like that, I would have shot them. That amount of restraint is incredible.
lol fuck no, as a white guy I know that I'm just a couple shades of color away from getting shot at a stoplight. I'm not pressing my luck at all. I'm more or less the comedian's stereotype of a very white dude, but that's what the cops want

Listen, as a black dude this video is the perfect representation of white privilege since these two dudes are alive. However, I think people are getting upset at the wrong thing here. What those two individuals did is PERFECTLY LEGAL in the state of Michigan. You are allowed to open carry in Michigan. There is no law against wearing body armor or wearing a face mask. And, there is NO law against openly carrying a weapon insice of a police station.
Now, at first I thought this is just too ridiculous surely their must be laws against weapons inside government buildings in Michigan. But, then I decided to look it up and NOPE:

The only places you are prohibited from openly carrying your weapon in the state, provided you have a licenses, is inside hospitals, churches, banks, theaters, and sports arenas. Government buildings and/or police stations are not listed which means they were well within their rights to carry a gun into the police station to file a complaint. Is it a monumentally STUPID thing to do? Yes. But, they are well within their legal rights to do it. It's not against the law to flip off a police officer or to tell them to "fuck off," that is your First Amendment right, it may not be practical to do so but it is still your right.
I find it more infuriating that these people were actually brought up on some nonsense trumped up charges because those cops don't like it when anyone else but themselves carry around guns. If you think the law is stupid, which it is. And, if you think guns laws are too lax, which they are. Then maybe you should change those fucking laws and enact better and stricter gun laws. But, in the meantime you don't get to arrest and bring up nonsense charges on individuals because you don't like their freedom in this specific situation.
Either smarten your gun laws or don't get scared when a white dude rolls up to your police station kitted out in body armor and an M-16 to simply say, "hello."

I want to be pissed at what these idiots did, and I want them to get charged with something out of anger...but reading what you have here makes sense. I'm still upset and think they're idiots, especially for scaring the hell out of people int the lobby (If that is true), but truly no crimes were committed.
Yet if it was two black or brown people who did this...they dead
