HAHAHAHA, did you guys check the follow up video from the dude who reupped the stream video? Literally the stereotype.

Stupid motherfuckers!

THE FUCK!?

So we are assuming that every cop on planet will automatically shoot for kill if it's person with other skin tone than white? If we do why bullshit assumption like that is okay? Or are we just being good old racist here?

There is absolutely no way to tell as 100% fact that those cops would have opened fire if person carrying weapon was black or yellow or green. Saying they didn't open fire because "white privilege" is just stupid, no two ways about it.
I'm no American but after seeing enough news pop out of the country, that is pretty much the assumption.

Because of this topic i watched some videos on youtube, where people in america also carried long rifles in public, like walmart.
It's just so strange for me. In germany they would have fucking called the gsg9 on your ass haha.
Only in america i guess.

Yeah, this is white privilege the video. I'm going to send this to my wife. Maybe the next time she tries (again) to get her Dad to understand that it exists she can show him this video.

So if they did shoot = dumbasses got what they deserved

They didn't shoot = white privileged

Disregarding the fact that they did their job and deescalated the situation and there is no way to tell that they'd shoot anyone of any other background.

Not all cops. We know, we know.

Sovereign Citizenship is like SSJ2 of white privilege. Folks can walk around with full combat gear on. But a black dude can get shot looking into his own car or for having a wallet.

Those are your words, not mine. And the police did an admirable job that they should be commended for.

But if you are going to sit there and act like this scenario would have played out the same had those two guys been Muslim you're full of crap.

I blame the various departments/Unions as opposed to the posters. Hard to have faith in a system where every high profile police brutality case there is a feeling justice wasn't served while police unions are saying they are infallible

The racist/corrupt impression America's police is well earned; not through their actions per say...but how they relish in their unaccountability. They blame the media or funny enough #BLM but if officer misconduct was actually fully prosecuted to the extent if the law we wouldnt be going hard in them in this thread. People get mad when someone unarmed is killed but they get incensed because nobody pays for it (outside of the taxpayer through civil cases).

So its hard watching a bunch of good cops doing the right thing against a bunch of assholes who nobody would have blames them for overreacting when there's been so many high profile cases that went the opposite way without a care on their end.

In Germany, we've got guys who are pretending that the German government is a company and not a legal entitity and that all the laws don't apply to them. And that, of course, we're still in a state of war with the Allies and the Soviet Union. They don't pay taxes, print their own IDs and passports for the states (basically their houses) they live in.

People from that section already planted bombs and shot police officers, so in my eyes, this is a terrorist threat. And in the US, this is way more dangerous, because they can legally obtain enough weapons to level a street full of pedestrians. And everybody has to pretend that those people are not lunatics in any given moment.

Ja, die guten alten Reichsbürger :) , almost added a sentence about them in my post but didn't because it was to OT..

The most blatant and obvious example of white privilege ever and still got people trying to go "but it isn't real, y'all the real racists for saying it is"

😕

The answer to this shit is real simple. What really needs to happen is that POC need to start legally acquiring guns in mass in these open carry states and then just start walking around with them.

All these pro gun nuts would change their tune real quick.

Well we don't know and hopefully we never find out because it's an incredibly dumb situation to put yourself and everyone else in.

Police here did a good job, but calling it white privilege and dismissing it as that is racist in and of itself IMO.

There are no doubt issues and accountability is a huge thing lacking, but I feel every time a white person don't get shot it's being dismissed as "cause he's white" is an issue in itself and inherently racist too.

It's basically putting the policies work to solve it without having to fire down to race and nothing else.

White privilege is a real thing with real world examples of its existence and not just some amorphous concept. People bring it up because it's true. There's a thread not even three pages back that's about a video where black parents coach their children how to deal with the police. Racism and racial biases with policing isn't some new phenomenon, white people getting a benefit of patience and calm discourse with an officer is not something that's imaginary.

Ignoring it and just throwing out the old "white privilege is just reverse racism" card misses the entire point.

In not saying biases doesn't exist, I'm saying throwing this instance and the police work out the window and calling the reason they didn't get shot down to race and nothing else is indeed racist.

How is it not?

The police showed incredible restraint in defusing the incredibly dumb situation.

These cops? Fair's fair, we can't be sure, certainly. It's a single isolated incident, and that could have either potential outcome.

But the average encounter of this nature? Statistics absolutely suggest that, on average, black people doing this would be shot much more often than white people doing so.

That, right there, that's white privilege.

It's not inherently racist to call out white privilege. Calling out white privilege is pointing out the existence of an inequality. There is no injustice in calling out white privilege, There is no denial of rights in calling it out. There is no harm nor death in calling out white privilege.

How is "you will probably have an easier time dealing with the police because you are white" racist? Numerous studies have shown that to heartbreakingly true.

Given the things that have happened over the past few years, it's not too much to assume that police officers react more aggressively if the person is anything but white. I mean, people got killed, because they wore a hoodie.

And those two guys walked in like paramilitaric mercenaries ready to take over that police station *and* having the equipment to do so, locked and loaded. That might have been the beginning of a terrorist attack with more assailants waiting outside spraying bullets among US citizens. But somehow the policemen have shown restraint in a situation which would have escalated pretty fast if they detected a foreign (maybe arabic?) accent and a brown skincolor. They don't "sir" people which they perceive as a threat, especially when they fit into a certain picture like "illegal immigrant" or "Muslim terrorist".

tbh I don't know whether to say it's a good thing or a bad thing that they didn't get immediately pumped full o' lead for strolling in like that

As has already been said, addressing these inequities is not racism. Pointing out that they exist is not racist. It's just a statement of fact.

So 1,500 bail and bullshit misdemeanors for walking into a police station like terrorist, ok. Gotta say that's some straight bullshit I doubt us minorities would get that treatment much less called sir while doing it.

Where is the inequality in this situation?
This whole thing and the only reason people see these guys not getting shot is due to their skin color and not the training or restraints of the police force.

I agree there is a overall issue, but calling people out for their color as the only reason something bad never happened, to me, is leaning towards racism.

Obviously opinions may differ in this instance and I'm not disagreeing the police in general have a problem, but saying white privlige suggest that the police would absolutely have killed any not white, which is not true.

So fucking dumb.

PoC's have been shot for less.

Its just super telling that White Men in armed in gear make the Police stand guard waiting inaction but unarmed black kids makes them feel "threatened" to murder.

Everyone in this thread trying to hand wave that a PoC wouldn't get gunned down in this scenario is a loser.

Fighting so hard against the idea of white privilege, but won't take on the systematic things that allow it to exist in the first place

wow these two men are just fucking idiots. lock them up and throw away the key.
Hopefully behaviour like this will spark an interest into banning guns and forbid open carry shit.

All this absolutely stuff needs to stop. It's not just about this situation, or this one moment in time. It goes beyond that. This situation highlights inequalities when compared outside of itself which is the point. I'm glad they weren't shot. But this being a misdemeanor when a 12 year old boy died for a BB gun is an inequality. Them getting 1500 on bail is an inequality when a man was choked to death on live video and no one went to jail for it. The white privilege is having your lives valued enough to be treated humanely when there are other examples of gross police negligence and legal injustices. The white privilege isn't about anything bad not happening to them but things that are inhumane and unfair happening to people of other races. You're right, it doesn't happen all the time. The issue is that it has happened and goes unaddressed within our society. The issue is that people will look at this situation and look at the death of Tamir Rice or John Crawford and consider the responses to each fair. The issue is that within the larger media landscape, these two guys will be treated as simple fools while people will continue to call Trayvon Martin a thug or utilized the possibility of them being Muslim as fodder to breed and stoke the fires of xenophobia. You're free to call the idea that pointing out this type of inequality is racism but while you are the police continue to militarize, minority neighborhoods continue to fear their own legal system and racism and racist ideals continue to flourish unchecked within law enforcement. White privilege isn't just not getting shot. It's about the worry that the punishment might end up being unfit for the crime when you're not white but people might still consider it reasonable. It's about never having to be afraid that the police in your neighborhood might have a culture of white supremacy that belittles and treats your race as lesser.

carrying a gun, ok
while wearing military outfit, hmm it's not forbidden but it's also not smart but what on earth does a face mask have to do with the 2nd amendment?

Please tell me they weren't shot because they were white

Please try

Not everything is about race, and not all cops are the same.

Not to discredit or marginalize any minority death, I understand where you're coming from and why you'd think that. Numbers do show that more whites are killed by police every year than blacks, but that statistically blacks are more likey to be shot by police likely because they are stopped more. Both of these are a problem. These two dudes walking into the police station were complete idiots, and regardless of color or creed were inviting suicide by cop. My point is simply that, since you asked.. no every situation, every cop is the same.

No black man would pull this stunt unless he were suicidal.

That's white privilege. That you can do something like this, enter a police station while carrying an assault weapon and wearing a ski mask and body armor like you're about to commit mass murder, without assuming you'll get shot.

They were pretty confident that it wouldn't go bad which I'm sure was the whole point.

They already knew beforehand that walking into a police station while looking like movie stylized bank robbers would warrant no real penalty.

No, it doesn't. It suggests that these white people are confident that they can do this action without fear of the most lethal repercussions. Try to find black people who'd be confident of that.
