Given there were unarmed civilians in the lobby I think the Police would have been justified using force. They must obviously be mentally unhinged to even do this so they are potentially dangerous.
Stupidity isn't a mental illness. They are just morons who think their 2nd amendment gives them the right to be armed to the teeth, carrying around guns as if a Visa card aka 'Dont leave home without it'.
50 years from now, gun nuts will be saying their "phased-plasma rifle in the 40-watt range" is something the constitution guarantees them to carry etc.

It seems completely and utterly insane to me that it's legal for people to dress up in masks and body armor and walk around carrying fucking assault rifles. I've seen videos of people going to buy groceries carrying rifles and shotguns and I was left staring at the screen in complete disbelief that this was an actual thing. How do americans go about their daily lives knowing that so many people around them have the means to end their lives in mere seconds?

Interesting, so this is the Crimean "Little Green Men" scenario. And if that happens in enough places, the police force would not be able to handle the situation, right? So people like that can move into government buildings and not be harrassed, because of "Free Speech" and "The Right to bear Arms", basically occupying them, because noone would shoot them?
I don't see any place on this planet in which people like that should *not* get on a no-fly-list, a no-gun-list and at least 10 years in prison if not worse. As a police man, I would see no other choice than to gun them down if they do not cooperate. Especially since everybody is on edge, because of terrorism. But the skin color obviously dictates the gravity of the infringement, so "Please, good sir, put that gun down or I might file a complaint!".

I seriously doubt that if these guys were sat in a park and a couple of guys entered the park wearing masks and armed to the teeth they would just assume they were expressing their right to carry, they'd probably shoot them if they could. The "point" people like this try to prove is a nonsense one.

In Germany, we've got guys who are pretending that the German government is a company and not a legal entitity and that all the laws don't apply to them. And that, of course, we're still in a state of war with the Allies and the Soviet Union. They don't pay taxes, print their own IDs and passports for the states (basically their houses) they live in.
People from that section already planted bombs and shot police officers, so in my eyes, this is a terrorist threat. And in the US, this is way more dangerous, because they can legally obtain enough weapons to level a street full of pedestrians. And everybody has to pretend that those people are not lunatics in any given moment.
It's quite apparent that the majority thinks all officers are the one and the same.
There's no evidence that these officers would shoot anyone else based on skin color.

But if one did a monte carlo simulation on both skin colors, using body amor, masks and rifles, we all know where all the blood would be.
No arguing that there probably is a statistically higher chance had they been of another background but it's quite baffling to see what looks like anger that they didn't get shot calling it white privilege.

I'd put that statistically higher chance at about 3000%, particularly with how jumpy the police currently are with all this radical moose-lamb talk from on high,
but never less than 900% uplift.
In other words if you're trying to make it sound like a small difference, on average, in the south, where all the open carry laws are, then you're really living in a bubble.
So we are assuming that every cop on planet will automatically shoot for kill if it's person with other skin tone than white? If we do why bullshit assumption like that is okay? Or are we just being good old racist here?
