i feel like this isn't going to help.

somehow, even though MS has a way more exciting fall lineup than Sony, and a better price, i just don't think it's going to help.

We'll see - they definitely have an uphill battle and as others have said it's not just the price. Their original message (whether or not you personally liked it isn't the question) confused a lot of mainstream (aka non-hardcore gamers who actually look up current info) consumers. Quite a few people still think it doesn't play used games and things like that.

That AC bundle is very tempting.

Add in 1 year of Xbox Live, and this is insta-buy territory.

It will help them in the holidays which seems to be the only thing they care about. But come next year when the price is back up and there are no new games, sales are going to plummet.

Sales always plummet after December though. But yeah, what I think they'll do is see how the console does back at regular price for a month; if it doesn't do too well then they will make the $350 price permanent.

OR -- I could see them releasing a new 1 TB regular SKU for $400 with the 500 GB SKU being $350. But yeah, I couldn't see them staying at $400 The first half of next year.
