This card is epic.

Epic.

That said, there have been lots of epic cards that didn't deliver, so I remain cautiously optimistic. I'll just let myself be surprised.

I´m hyped.
War:

Silva
Franklin
Rocha
Bader
Torres
Cerrone
Omigawa
Yamamoto
Taylor
Kingsbury
Pierce

Awesome card. Let´s hope Silva doesn´t dance his way into a decision.

Catching my flight to Vegas today, can't wait for Saturday. War Torres! War Silva!
Oh you're going too? Yeah I fly out tomorrow morning and will check in just in time to make it to the Q&A.

FYI here's a list of all the stuff going on there if you don't already have it:

Sopcast

So this is *most likely* the wrong place to ask but for those GAFers out there who have gone to UFC shows before:

How did you get good seats? UFC Fight Club Membership for early presale? Or just Ticketmaster at 10:00:00am or whenever tix went on sale?

I think its because of his fight with Vera. It was when Vera rolled away after having his skull cracked and Bones kept pounding on him. Wasnt all Bones fault as Herb Dean let it carry on. Bones should have stopped when he seen what Vera did.

Dude is young and a bit wild but will probably calm down soon enough ......needs to be a bit more like Mousasi, when you got someone beat just stop and walk away.

From what I've read on Sherdog, a lot of people are hating on him because of his "holier than thou" attitude. He seems to speak down on people that do bad things. Admits to snitching on people that smoked weed and has laid down some pretty cocky lines. Some would also argue he is overrated(crazy talk)

I personally think he is the man and don't see many beating him. I say WHEN he beats Bader, they should put him against Machida, if he beat Couture. If Machida loses, I think they will give Jones the loser of Griffin/Franklin or the loser of Page/Silva. They are still trying to build him up and he is still pretty young. Giving him the winners may be a little premature especially when you know he won't fight Rashad.

I got my tickets for Belfort vs Franklin at Stubhub. Got club level seats for about 200 each. Club level was the shit.. There were no lines for drinks, could easily make it outside for a smoke, no lines for bathrooms, better food.

It doesn't start til 3-4am so it might be hard to find a place open that would show it.

I think vitor is the best competition for silva but i still think silva has an edge if he want the win. Rooting for Forest and Bones. Bones will be the champ at some point when he get a shot.

Middleweight Championship: Anderson "The Spider" Silva (Champion) vs. Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort
Light Heavyweight bout: Forrest Griffin vs. Rich "Ace" Franklin
Welterweight bout: Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha
Light Heavyweight bout: Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Ryan Bader
Bantamweight bout: Miguel Angel Torres vs. Antonio Banuelos

damn i can't wait for this event. even made a bet with my friend that silva would beat vitor.

He lost to Rashad Evans and Anderson Silva, then took a fight with Tito on very short notice and won. Prior to that, he defeated Rampage and Shogun. I don't think he has fallen as far as you believe.

I think Griffin vs. Franklin is going to be a very evenly matched and exciting fight. Franklin has a bit more going for him on the technique side and Forrest has a bit more of an edge in the size department.
On paper, Forrest could be in contention, but barring a lopsided pounding of Franklin, I suspect Forrest's career is actually close to over. He lost a lot more than a match when Anderson ran him out of the building. He lost his mojo, which I don't think he can regain. He's like Crocop now, a hollow shell of his former self. I'd love to be proven wrong, because I like Forrest, but I suspect his confidence is completely shot.

For UFC 104 I got tickets for free from Dana by following him on twitter and going where he gave free tix out. Had great seats, probably worth about $350.

For UFC 114 I bought them from a guy on craigslist who got comped tix and paid face value.

For 117 and 126, Fight Club. Paid $350 for some very good seats at 117 and paid $140 for some cheaper ones at 126, but Mandalay is small as hell anyways, I went there for the 114 weigh ins.

ufc.tv is pretty freakin awesome

just sayin

There is a demo with the Edgar/Maynard fight... and halfway through the first round you can hear Edgar's corner talking about throwing in the towel.

Landed in Vegas an hour ago... Joe Rogan was on the same plane as me from LA to Vegas and we were chatting it up about the fights on the tram and so far I've met Scott Jorgensen, Matt Hume and Kid Yamamoto (who I got a picture with and he was mad cool) all on the way to my room.

hahah that's pretty cool. what was your impression of the people you met/saw
KID was pretty chill.. had a stoner vibe about him, we were both waiting on stuff at the business desk... Rogan was pretty cool we were just talking about fighters getting old, he thinks KID isn't gonna do too well because fighters who depend on their speed like he did seem to go over the hill overnight and he's 35... I then brought up Anderson in the same regard and that the same thing could happen to him and he pretty much agreed and said he liked Vitor in this fight because Andy has never really faced a striker as good as him since way back in Cage Rage.

As for Hume and Scotty, just said hi to them in passing. I'm about to go to the Q&A thing with Faber and Showtime.

wow... good thing they didn't, holy shit.

I just refuse to pay full PPV price to watch fights on my computer when I can pay the same and get way better image quality and 60FPS on TV, so I'll never fucking use this shit.

Sorry for the stupid question but...

Is the pay-per-view only 4 fights?
It's 5, Silva/Belfort, Griffin/Franklin, Jones/Bader, Ellenburger/Rocha and Torres/Banuelos. May also show fights from the prelims if these ones end early.

Yea I think it is cool as hell but for $44.99? hahaha no thanks.

I would love it if they allowed you to use it just for ordering the PPV but it looks like they are trying to move traffic from the cable companies. I would love to use it at a big discount to re-watch the PPV. But $44.99? cmon...

I think with showing it online they have to charge a similar price as the normal PPV broadcast because they don't want to piss off the PPV providers by undercutting them.

Have fun buddy.

Silva will lose. I said it.

Age is catching him up and he has seemed reluctant to pull the trigger in recent fights bar forest who is uber slow.

The same thing that happened to liddell will happen to Silvia.

very jealous

I want to be in vegas :(

Instead my fiancée has planned a surprise birthday party for her mother.. and i might miss the ppv all together.

>:(

The odds maker and everyone is really underrating Ryan Bader. He will make this an ugly fight and could pull out a decision.

why? he was getting outpointed by jardine until he pulled a flash ko (against jardine, so basically worthless) and jason brilz (who proceeded to look like crap in his next fight) looked way better against lil nog than he did. he didn't do anything with his wrestling against jardine when 99% of people thought he was going to dominate him there. look it's mma i can't say definitively one way or the other but i don't personally feel he's being underrated if anything overrated thanks to being undefeated against weak competition in mostly unimpressive bouts

Yeah, but I think people are catching on to that line. I got my money in on Bader at +300. He's at like +250 now.

What? can someone tell me what this is about, I can't watch the weighins.
Vitor said something about Anderson wearing a mask in the ring and intimidating his opponents.

edit: So Anderson walked up to Vitor with a mask on and pressed his face against Vitor's pretty hard.
