No I don't think Amanda Nunes hits harder or faster than Floyd freaking Mayweather. However, she knows how to stop a takedown and knows how to defend herself if she's ends up on the ground. Floyd only knows how to throw hands.

I still don't know how people were saying rousey could beat Floyd with a straight face back then.
I know people hate Floyd because he is a terrible human being but there is no possible way Rousey could beat him.
Floyd is much faster than Nunes and punches arguably 2x as hard. If they ever fought it would be over in 15 seconds. Ronda would get tagged 4-5 times just trying to get close enough to attempt a takedown.
With that said a lot of people seem to think Rousey simply lost because of bad training when that's hardly it. Fighting is almost as mentally taxing as it physically. And mentally Rousey wasn't here for this fight.
Holm devestated Rousey and since then she lost her mental edge to compete. Soon as Rousey got tagged with the first hit last night you could see the complete 180 in her body language. She walked into that ring last night extremely confident and after that first hit from Nunes you could tell she didn't want to be there anymore. It's like she reverted back to the Holm fight and immediately went all defense rather than try to regain herself and throw a punch or attempt a takedown.
Once a fighter loses their mental edge they lose everything.

Floyd's also broken his hands a million times and now throws punches gingerly. We just saw Ronda withstand nearly 30 power punches without going down. No way Floyd even wobbles her. She'll walk through his punches and then take him for a ride.

I don't watch ufc or have much of an interest in it so could someone explain why everyone is saying Ronda is going to retire now? She's lost like two fights total right? It would be fucking stupid to retire when she is still seemingly one of the best fighters around.
Ronda didn't need to stuff any takedowns. She needed to get one herself. She's didn't even make an attempt... clearly she has no business standing with someone who can strike.

She tried to take Holm down... multiple times. The difference between Holy Holm and Floyd Mayweather (besides the obvious skill gap in boxing and one is male, the other female) is that Holm knows how to prevent a takedown.

I doubt she is ready to call it quits, but many people seem to figure the Ronda mystic is gone and the playbook on beating her is punching her in the face hard, because as of right now she has no idea what a punch is and why its dangerous getting hit by a punch.
