Bullshit. His skill is not questionable at this point, and pulling in 1.5mil+ PPV buys matters when this is first and foremost an entertainment business. If you want utmost legitimacy or whatever stick to watching submission tournaments.

This is such a load of horse shit it's not even worth picking apart.

Conor had an amazing 2016. He fought tough fights. He fought exciting fights. He sold the fuck out of his fights. He won titles at two weight classes. He didn't disappoint at any step. Anyone trying to find reasons to hate on that is simply irrational.

Of course it's questionable. Look at how Mendes (who fought on short notice) ragdolled him before gassing out late in the round. That was a clear blueprint on how easy McGregor can be beat. Mendes on a full fight camp easily wins that fight and there is not McGregor hype train. The moment McGregor fights a legit grappler it's over for him. They will GSP the shit out of him and he won't be able to overcome it.

He accomplished a great deal but had a ton of opportunity handed to him for something he didn't initially earn. His fights before the Mendes, Aldo and Diaz fights were anything but impressive. It was his trashtalk that made them worth watching with underwhelming performances.

who else bypassed top 5 fighters outside of Brock to earn a titleshot? just curious. On top of that all past champs actually defended the belt and at least attempted to clear out the division. This dude could care less about any of that.

What the fuck... Conor lost a fight this year and ran that shit back immediately, unlike Ronda who ran into a hole and hid for a year. No one here is saying he's unbeatable.

Remember when they gave Randy Couture a heavyweight title shot after he'd been retired for two years? They've given undeserved title shots plenty of times.


Conor beat Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz, and Eddie Alvarez with a year's time. Jose hadn't lost in 10 years, Nate is an incredibly tough matchup for Conor and he still beat him cleanly the second time, and Eddie Alvarez hadn't been KO'd ever.


Anyone from MMA-GAF knows I was critical of Conor for a while but if you doubt what he's done at this point you're just in denial. Dude is legit, and unlike say Chael Sonnen, he backs up all his talk.
