Machida is the MW Clay Guida. He's just bouncing around and gesticulating distracting the audience from his inaction and blocked or parried punches. He barely landed any clean strikes in that fight as evidenced by the infallible fight metric.

Marks were told for how many years how special Clay and Ryuto were by Joe Rogan, and the fans ate it up.

Favela rats screaming for every blocked strike didn't help either.

Mousasi didn't do shit all night. At least Machida had a nice trip and 2 or 3 kicks. One of them vicious too. Oh I'm sorry I forgot, Mousasi had a vicous illegal upkick too. I guess that's what NeogafMMA is about. Cheering for cheaters.

I just don't see Jacare winning against Machida if they make that the No1 contender match.

His takedowns are OK but he could not catch him I think.

Hopefully they DONT match them up and find other things to do for them.

i think some people just want this in their MMA

that's just it. see, I want stuff like that GIF in MMA, AND I want stuff like Machida. I want variety. I want different styles and approaches. There is nothing boring about trying to avoid getting hit while trying to work an opening to put the other guy away in spectacular fashion, and Machida manages about half of the time to do just that.

The rest of the time, you get to see a level of karate technique you don't get from anyone else. It's great seeing the well rounded guys (and Machida is well rounded in his own way, mind) but people who excel at one discipline to the point that they can go all the way to the belt...

Yeah, I love that. It makes the sport a lot more interesting.

I'd take an entire card filled with fights like that over one filled with Machida decisions everyday of the week. That fight was insane.
