That's a fistful of roses compared to Everquest: Online Adventures for the PS2. I'll never forget popping in the demo disc for this gem:



This was just a year before FFXI was released in the US, a game that arguably looks better than Everquest 2

. Art direction wins every time.

I can't find any images of it, but I remember the loading screens in EQ2 would have concept art from the game(all bad), and one of them was some kind of fire pit that looked totally atrocious. As in "why would anyone think this needed to be shown on every loading screen over and over again".

The Spartan designs are ugly and stupid. The environments are usually the same old drab human prefab constructs.

Perfect Dark Zero was such a bad looking game. That HUD alone makes you want to gouge your eyes out.

Probably pretty strange but I do find something of this attractive, maybe the gun model lol.

MDK is gorgeous, man. The art direction is amazing! Especially the glass levels, damn those are some of the prettiest environments ever.

Kingpin though...

Ugly as a sin and all the textures are undulating all the time which looks like every one is made out of jelly

That game's fine. The graphics aren't special now, but they were pretty good back in the day. Driver's Ed sims wish they could look that good.
