UK/EU Amiibo Thread | Compatible with the regular-sized New Nintendo 3DS

Falco available for pre-order at amazon.fr (sometimes!)

Amiibo captain falcon... duh?

And "Date de parution : 19 décembre 2014" so I guess the picture is just an error, because the release date fit perfectly with the "captain falcon's wave".

So I've been looking at pre-orders for the Skylanders/Amiibo crossovers.

The Wii U starter set comes with Donkey Kong.
The Wii and 3DS starter sets come with Bowser.

Is the only way of getting both figures really to pre-order the starter set twice? That's fucking bullshit. I had assumed all along that both would be either included in the starter bundle or would be available as individual figures.

Yes. The games are apparently very different but yeah it is pretty deliberate. I suppose if Games Journalism (lol) were to ask Activision would say something like "these characters only work on the Nintendo platforms so if they were sold separately we would be inundated with complaints and the skylanders brand would be dead" (kind of missing the point that a Wii U only owner might not want DK). There is something to be said about not diluting SKUs but a build a bundle approach offered by specialist retailers here would have been great.

Now that Amiibo supply is not so limited anymore, we're back with games impossible to buy...

Apparently, Project Zero went online yesterday, and sold out in a matter of hours at best I guess, since I can't find out anywhere.

Grrr... I hate these guys.

Now people are getting their 8-bit Mario amiibos, need someone to try it in Woolly World to see if it's a unique skin or just Mario. Or, heck, even like the Pokemon.

Well that's annoying. I won't be paying eShop prices for it, but I seem to remember they are going to put up a trial version as well aren't they? That'll do for me if they don't have any more LE stock or release a normal disc version.

So here's the deal:

There are only two ways to get a copy of Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water
-The Limited Edition on a Wii U disc with the steel book, art book and stuff
-The Trial Version on the eShop which lets you play the first few chapters for free after which you can decided to purchase the remaining chapters.

That is it.

I could live with that, but not if there's such a low stock of the disc edition that it sells out everywhere in a matter of hours two months before release. Partly because of scalpers (there's already ebay listings at 100-150€ for preorders).

It's as bad as the worse days of Amiibos, except there's no hope for a restock after the initial shipment :/

Ugh. Realised my Nintendo Store preorder for the Mario Maker amiibo bundle is using an old card that got stolen. It won't go through if they try to charge it. Nothing will let me change the payment details on that order, and if I can cancel I lose it. I've sent a message, but I'm not very hopeful. :\

Also, ShopTo are being quite cheeky.

Snap, I had the exact same problem with my order, got a link to change the card details yesterday

What's the UK RRP of the Splatoon 3-pack?
Low end import prices (usually Australian) are around £40 (I really would not expect much cheaper I know it is $35 in USA but once you get that shipped over, pay tax and bullshit courier handling charges you can be over that). Available ones now are a tad higher than that.

Importing a Squid amiibo on its own (from Japan) might be £18 once supply returns to the market (not really looked into it) at which point the three pack would still be a similar price point (18+11+11=40).

Wait a while would be my advice as inkling and squid supply is still a bit on the low side (outside of 3 pack which had a recent restock).

Maturity, bitches.
So glad I got a triple pack off AmiAmi when they had them in stock for a brief second. Including postage it came to about £20!

If you need the Classic Colours Mario

EXCLUSIVE includes Mario Classic Colours amiibo, 8 Bit Mario Soft Toy, Mario "Breaking Bricks since 1985" T-Shirt and a FREE Mario Hat.

£29.99

This actually seems really expensive, especially with it listing the hat as a freebie.

In stock at Game at the moment.

They aren't shipping outside UK for this though so dunno if it's any good for you.

Not to rain on your parade or anything Munter, but I may have a better solution. I have the DETOLF as well as three of these in the 200 x 300 x 200 size and they're cheaper at around £10 each. The seller does do bespoke sizes but when I enquired with one that would be wider it was much more than I cared to spend.

These fit about five on each row and there's no spaces in between them then. I'd prefer it a bit wider but after shopping around these were the best bet. Here's my set-up currently. I need new lights - battery powered cheap spotlights don't do much, so I need to go check IKEA when I have a bit more dosh to get something more substantial. May have to get another DETOLF for all my crap as well and have one just for amiibos...

Looks good. I'm happy with my setup just now, as I can get 24 amiibos on each shelf. I need the room for future bos.

could you get the 400 width version in it?

Good question. No. I actually ordered that one first hoping to have one more on each step but had to return it. It's just a tad too big unfortunately :(

Has Famicom R.O.B. gone up anywhere yet? I have a feeling it's going to be a pain to get it.
You mean the japanese-color version?

Import is always harder, but I'm so impressed by the availability in stores now (saw Dedede, MK, Villager, Robin, Lucina, Marth, Shulk, Sonic, Megaman, Palutena, ZSS, Ganondorf, Dark Pit, Pac-man, green and pink yarn Yoshi, and many others two days ago without even looking for them...) that I think they solved most of their supply issue in Europe, and I've had less trouble importing from Japan from times to times (for the Splatoon 3-pack, e.g.)

Also possibly of note:

They seem to have got new XL t-shirts in for the Mario Maker + Classic 8-bit Mario Amiibo + T-Shirt packs - the sizes went very quickly originally.
There's a 'Mario Box', containing a T-shirt, a classic 8-bit Mario amiibo and a cuddly toy.

Finally found a new home for my Amiibos. Kylo Ren isn't too happy...

No no no no NO, like seriously please don't put anything on top of your floor standing speakers!

You wouldn't do it on a pair of Klipsch Palladiums and thus you shouldn't do it on lesser ones either, that is criminal damage

Saw an innocent squid inkling on display at CeX. Got me tempted to bring my Wii U and tap their Splatoon amiibo. Then a thought struck me, why don't they run an amiibo scan service! £2 a pop! Maybe the Wii U would be too time consuming but for the n3DS we're talking seconds.

Pretty sure I've heard of certain stores in Japan doing this.
