If your account is banned for a chargeback then they give you the option on their website to pay the negative balance and restore access to your account.Don't they normally give you the ability to rectify those chargebacks. Maybe you missed the email back then or something went wrong and you never received it.
Yeah which you don't have but maybe that expires after 6 months? Did you check within the first 6 months? If your account is banned for a chargeback then they give you the option on their website to pay the negative balance and restore access to your account.

Yes, the I was made aware of the ban when I turned on my PS5 on a Friday evening so because I could not contact customer support until Monday, I tried the chargeback weblink but it said there was no chargeback charges on the account.Yeah which you don't have but maybe that expires after 6 months? Did you check within the first 6 months?
If it's PSN code related it's probably more likely to do with your Ragnarok story in which case they might have assumed you directly stole someone's code.
Sony will ban people who purchase content directly from the PlayStation store if they do a chargeback. There are lots of stories out there about accounts being banned after a chargeback, especially if someone contacted PlayStation support for a refund and were refused and then decided to do it through their card issuer. They don't seem to provide those folks with a detailed explanation for their ban, either. But it's easier for someone to know what happened if it happens right after they initiate a chargeback against a PS store charge.
I've seen so many stories online about this issue, it appears to be the biggest problem because users don't realise they lose access to their accounts and I think that's why PlayStation now offers a way for you to recover your account but they email you a link to buy PSN Wallet top up codes and then you enter those codes into another email link and your account is restored.Yea my wifes account got banned for this. Our son accidentally logged into her account and ended up purchasing PS+ on her CC. She almost never plays the PS so she just charged it back and had no issues losing the account forever. It took a while but eventually her account was banned.
Thanking for that breakdown and I know it all makes perfect sense.
Why doesn't Sony issue warnings on their blogs, social media and websites making users aware of the pitfalls of buying from these sites?
If this was happening more often then why do we not hear more of it?
Apologies to go off-topic but I have a Switch 2 Mario-Kart edition console pre-order for launch day in a local UK retailer.
If I do manage to get my PSN account back I'll be going back to PlayStation and buying a PS5 Pro.
So if anyone was interested in my Switch 2 pre-order I'd be more than happy to collect it and ship it out to anyone interested. I could sell it through eBay and will only be looking the price I would pay for it.
Because you'll be going back to Playstation and buying a PS5 Pro?
Why would they care to issue warning when they know people like you will go back to them anyway?
I have a feeling that the reason they won't give me the fraud details is because it might give me a case to take them to the small claims court and claim citing the Unfair Contract Terms Act and Consumer Contract rights.
With no elaboration on why they did it then the word fraud can cover such a huge spectrum.

Curious(and you probably already answered this), how many digital games have you purchased from the psn store total?… I got around 450-500 digital games purchased myself, and losing them over a innocent mistake makes me nervous as FI have a feeling that the reason they won't give me the fraud details is because it might give me a case to take them to the small claims court and claim citing the Unfair Contract Terms Act and Consumer Contract rights.

Also my account was permanently suspended at the end of August and I had Astro Bot and Silent Hill 2 preordered with wallet funds and they still took the funds after the account was permanently suspended.
PlayStation Safety determined that content uploaded from your account to Helldivers 2 on PlayStation Network breached the Code of Conduct set out in our Terms of Service. |

What a worthless contribution. Go take your trolling elsewhere.
Well this is why it's critical to get the full details of the ban reason. If it doesn't correlate with anything you've actually done and/or if it's a complete error on their side then it becomes much easier for you to fight against. Even if it's just that one of the keys you redeemed got flagged for fraud then there's a case for you to argue.
So Yeh, keep on applying as much pressure as possible in order to get an answer.
