Some of these things they don't have already or have no plans for are ridiculous. You can't change a sub-account to a master account? Wat. No DLNA? Wat. No MP3 support? Wat. No suspend/resume at launch? Wat. No external HDD support? Wat.

"We want consumers to have choice." Force Music Unlimited subscription on you if want to stream audio or play it in the background.

I don't really see the big deal about mp3s. 500gb is going to be easy enough to fill up without putting music on it. I feel bad for those of you who care about that though. DLNA I never used either. Don't really know exactly what it is to be honest. Not being able to change our name is so disappointing though. Maybe i'll just go real name route.

I think it's more shocking that it seems they are outright disallowing all current BT headsets and will only allow upcoming PS4 ones. USB ones still work though, but I don't have one of them...

Spent past few months reripping 300 Movies and over 2000 TV Episodes to h264/aac/mp4 ready and they aren't even supporting DLNA now?

Do you have a Samsung or LG TV? Then grab the Plex client and install the plex server on the machine you would normally run the DLNA server on, and you'll have a much more capable media client/server setup with web access, clients on "all" devices including tablets etc.

Lack of MP3 & DLNA support is a real head-scratcher. I can understand having a games-focused console, but sheesh. Hoping that kinda stuff will be patched in later, but I can't see how MP3 support is anything beyond the most trivial of efforts to get working, and I'm assuming that's their way of pushing their music service thing.

Both of these consoles really were not ready to launch this year. There's going to be so much stuff missing from PS4 on day 1 and while I don't really care about it that much since I'm all about the games, I feel for many of you.

For real. It's a console launch and besides the games most everything else is just noise. Just give me games + psn + chat

That is the MAIN resaon I use my ps3 EVERY SINGLE DAY for about 5 years now.

With me home server with almost 20 TB of video content I love the fact that I can stream everything trough the PS3 interface.

If it don't change i won't buy a PS4 i don't live in on of the major regions so certain things mean more to people like us .

To be frank. DLNA was introduced in firmware for PS3.

I mean no MP3 support for background music is obviously bullshit but ton of features probably will be reintroduced as system will get new firmware.

Wow, wow. Lots of weird things. Have to agree with the poster on the previous page, that Sony wants to force people to use their music streaming service and other services for movies and tv series (a bit weird when there's Netflix).

I really don't care, I only use my consoles to play games but it's still really weird. And I do hope that Sony will get a lot of bad press because of this, so they'll have to change.

You need to have at least a 160 GB HDD in the system. How much space do the system use, any ideas yet? 50 GB or something perhaps? At minimum 160 GB one would need to have at least 50 GB in order to "cache" (read install) the games. Which also leads to something different; Sony really need to make it real cache so it's auto deleted when the user's HDD is full and would require more space for a newly bought game.

Likely Access Netfront this time around too, but they threw out their rubbish rendering engine for a webkit-based hybrid, so it should be better (by some measurement of "better" considering how fragmented webkit is).

I was so hyped about PS4 but this last month has brought me crashing back down to the ground. Can't use it as a media center? Then it doesn't get used, if it can't even do what a PS3 can then why should people even bother? What exactly are they bringing to the table besides good graphics at this point?

The lack of wallpapers fucked me off, but music, DLNA, DriveClub delayed, Watch Dogs delayed (I know its not Sony, but it was the system seller for me originally), no external harddrives and so forth. Not happy.

Bullshit Sony, absolute bullshit... made my decision for me I guess... once those ebay prices are ramped up I will get rid and buy the system when there are more games and you have changed these idiotic policies. Ugh! Was so looking forward to the next gen and its just been one clusterfuck after another, soured on the whole deal. Maybe in a few weeks I will have calmed down and it won't be so bad, I don't see how though, I have two consoles under my TV and I use PS3 more due to the great media features and customization.

No dlna support is actually a huge fucking problem with me. I have 2 ps3s in the house and one of them is in constant use just for streaming from my pc. No custom mp3s, no name change.

No I have a dumb TV, I've been using my PC via second screen but wanted a standalone box and I was ripping everything in anticipation of new console
