Oh yeah, I'm sure you've played the game at this point so you know the game definitely doesn't deserve an 8.

Christ people, relax. It's one score. It's like 8.8-gate all over again.
 
How dare Eurogamer's writer express his opinion.

Maybe he just doesn't think the game is worth a 9 or a 10. I just played through Uncharted 2, 8/10 is the score I would give it.

this is basically the summary of eurogamer review, and I know some reviewer will say this. Uncharted is a very straight forward series, it's gamey element is very simple compared to other games like skyrim, zelda, deus ex

Unkarted: the narrative does not fit with the gameplay. how can we take nathan drake seriously in a kart? he is an everyman. he should be complaining of sore kart muscles after karting for multiple hours.
 
I seriously started ignoring Eurogamer a long time ago. When other publications and sites are giving the game high 9's to perfect 10's and then Eurogamer comes along and gives it an 8 I can't help but laugh. What's sad is that their 8 score will garner a ton of hits and they know it.

That same writer gave a Gundam game the same 8/10 score. I don't really care what you rate it, since you're not a professional reviewer, just seems a bit weird to give those two games similar scores.

so a reviewer isn't allowed to have an opinion? his score has to be in line with the metacritic score? what's the point in even reviewing a game, then?

Are you serious? IGN gave a 10 in graphics a lot of games with worst graphics than Uncharted 3

Yeah Jarmel seems to have concentrated on the graphics part which is strange. I think people agree that the Uncharted series have great graphics.

Different reviewers. Bramwell reviewed UC2 and gave it a 10. This one is by Parkin, but still considering the average, it should have been a 9.

Maybe he likes Gundam as much or more than Uncharted 3?
 
You all need to stop focusing on the one good rating and focus on all the great-pefect scores.

This is exactly why I pre-ordered this game when it was announced. Congrats to Naughty Dog. Another terrific piece of interactive entertainment.

Eh, that Eurogamer review was kinda shitty. The whole thing read like "This game is unparalleled as a linear game experience, but it's not risky and it's a linear game. I don't like linear games. 8/10." I hate when linear game design is used as a criticism.

edit: It's also odd, considering they gave UC2 a 10/10. Different reviewers I guess?
 
Between This, Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Gears of War 3, Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Skyward Sword, Dark Souls, Bastion and Skyrim, this year's GOTY is going to be epic.

I dont feel either zelda or deus ex are especially complex...infact deus ex especially seemed pretty damn stream lined...the game allowed an impressive amount of freedom in some aspects, but they seemed to have compromized on the level design...most areas felt like carbon copies with a few layout changes
