The 100th time I've seen someone say this. You all are setting yourself for disappointment. I could see one person having a meltdown and then see everyone quoting that one dude saying stuff like OMG GAF HIVE MIND OVERREACTING
I have a feeling this will be the exact case. I think most of the forum veterans have learned from the past crazy review threads, and all we'll get is some poor sap of a junior who gets quoted to oblivion.

If you want embarrassingly stupid responses in absolute excess, the bigger sites' comment sections will be much better for that.

What. This gen especially, reviewers have been much more critical of these triple-A games. The highest console game on meta right now is at what...93? Most games end up receiving scores around the 80s.

I still think a lot of review scores are inflated. Like Fallout 4. That game doesn't deserve the praise it got. Arkham Knight's another one, but the PC version just dragged that game into a pit.

A 8/10 will cause a meltdown. I'm glad I wasn't assigned UC4 for review, and was able to focus on gameplay captures for YT.

Yeah probably this. I also think Uncharted 3 was a bit of a wake up call for fans to be a bit more reserved and critical.

I hope no matter what happens, someone make a list. Either of the people who have a meltdown or the people wanting a meltdown. Such craziness.

So hyped for this game even though I have never played an UC game before nor I own a PS4. I think that's the beauty of GAF, the hype in here expands to everyone even if you are not a PS4 user.

Despite the ridiculous reactions I still think Uncharted 3 was easily a 9/10 game mainly because of the multi-player package included.

You would think but trust, there will be some janky ass wall of shame people will huddle around for years.

Yeah, that was pretty crazy.

Regarding reviews, anyone know if IGN's new temporary score policy affect Metacritic? I remember Metacritic only took the very first score attached to the review.
Metacritic currently only has IGN's review under "In Progress & Unscored" for Battleborn (the first game with IGN's new temporary score policy). So IGN's score on their in progress review in 2 hours won't count towards the UC4 Metacritic page.

UC3 was a huge letdown for me. I loved UC2 multiplayer, but didn't like what UC3 offered. The aiming of UC3 was a mess at launch and the game coming off the hotness of UC2 just felt underwhelming.

UC3 8/10 from Eurogamer caused a massive meltdown.

What was the reaction to Polygon's 7.5 for TLoU? I don't remember it being anywhere near as bad as Uncharted 3's meltdown, we did get a fantastic gif though.
Well, hopefully the review thread doesn't disappoint, it's been getting almost as much hype as the game.

Ah okay. They've smartened up.

Well, a lot of people sure are thirsty...

I'm a miserable bastard.

I kind of want the game to get panned, not because I want the people looking forward to playing the game to be disappointed, but the ensuing thread would be hilarious and legendary.

I'm sure the game will be great and well reviewed.

I'm in here for the glorious meltdowns & the hilarious GIFs and Memes that ensue

little over 2 1/2 hours until the meltdowns commence. This will be fun. Shall we get in the bunker?

A part of me secretly hopes it's below expectations so we can get a wall of posts from users condemning the entire media industry.

I care more about the review thread than review scores

That's why I'm here. I stopped caring about review scores a while ago (personally). Though I guess I do care a bit if it impacts other peoples' purchasing decisions for what I consider to be good games, as I want games that I like to do well (and get a sequel or result in the dev making an even more ambitious game etc), but Uncharted is not one of those games I need to "worry" about not doing well.

I'm here for the chaos.

cant wait for the meltdowns over nothing. Watching this to get hype https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko1sklmOR9E

Can't wait to get to work in the morning and read the shitstorm. No matter if its meta is 100 or 60; tomorrow's review thread should be legendary.

I want to see entire page of people banned just because it would make for a cool screenshot/gif

More excited about the review thread than the reviews.

I'm looking forward to the Uncharted 4 Review Thread Wall of Shame. :p

Got this feeling this is going to be suuuch a shit-show in terms of review scores and embarrassing reactions. Either way, there will be entertainment for all. I can't wait to finally play this baby though, finally!

High 80s at least.

And if that happens the meltdowns will be legendary.

No matter what this review thread is going to be one for the ages XD

There's going to be one site/critic who gives it an 8 and it'll just get eviscerated.

I'm looking forward to people making a fool of themselves in the review thread.

Honestly looking forward to the review thread more than the game.

And yes I know that's sad.

bring on the review thread. my most anticipated thread of the year

Not really interested in the game at all, but I can't wait to see the reviews and thread.

I will definitely be keeping an eye on the review thread. I hope it's as entertaining as the UC3 and Order 1886 threads.

I think I'll play some Drake's Fortune while I wait for the reviews to drop :P I have classes late tomorrow so I can afford to stay up till like 4 am.

"The Wall That Wouldn't Exist if Fanboys Didn't Act Like Babies the Last Two Times Naughty Dog Released a Game". Has a nice ring to it, I think.

But that would be a bit ignorant and unnecessarily specific, since it happens with most major exclusives. Including most recently Quantum Break, and going back as far as Twilight Princess. Just because no one bothered to create a similar wall of shame for other games, doesn't mean similar meltdowns didn't happen.

I think it was a victim of it's own hype more than anything. I went in mostly blind and thought it was great, not as good as 2, and it definitely had problems, jumping from location to location just for a cool set-piece, garbage villain and no hit reactions from enemies being shot, being a few, but it had a few of positives too, Drake was the best he's ever been, the set-pieces were fantastic and it probably has my favourite banter between the characters of the series.

It never happens to the extent of a Zelda or Naughty Dog game. And I say that as someone who ranks Wind Waker and The Last of Us in my top 20 games ever.

True. That Angry Joe review of Quantum Break topic was an embarrassment. The hate on Jeff from Giant Bomb was crazy too. This behavior is not limited to Naughty Dog fans.

It's a shitty ass practice and it shouldn't be encouraged or excused, no matter if the end results are good or not. It's not a good practice in any way imaginable.

Sony embargoes have typically ended the day before release, IIRC, so this is actually more than they offer. However, if reviews are out they should allow non-official screen shots, really. It's a silly restriction because any spoilers will be available the day before most of us have started to play it anyway. And then all of those who've played it will post screens and spoil it for those who can't buy it or play it on release day, like it doesn't matter anyway.

If you want to avoid spoilers in the first few days, then you have to keep away from places where it's likely to happen.

Well, a lot of people sure are thirsty...
I don't know why my post talking about not caring about scores but just in general entertainment from the review thread got quoted. I said I was here for the chaos. That doesn't mean meltdowns. People are going to be analyzing the smallest points from reviews, other people will try to downplay the game, other people will try to defend it, without having played the game. Aka chaos.

That Quantum Break Angry Joe thread was fucking terrible since some people insulted him in that thread.

The Order thread was worse than anything before it. Happens to every game. There are some in there, who might not publicly acknowledge it, but there are some that just want to watch the game fail for fanboyish reasons too (Xbox fanboys, Nintendo fanboys, PC fanboys, ND detractors) - aka the opposite of ND fanboys. It's not a one way street.
