Underrated Videogame soundtracks?

I'm going to have to vote Billy Hatcher and Blaster Master. I'm not sure if Blaster Master is underrated, but it's not pimped out here all that often. I just played Billy Hatcher the other day and was reminded of all th things I liked about it.

Sweet, I came into this thread thinking of Earthbound, didn't expect so many to already include it on their list! One of the most memorable soundtracks I can think of.

Where is Mother 3, Nintendo?! Hell, I'd settle for Mother 1+2 GBA over here, but I know that's not happening..

-Kirby: Amazing Mirror

-Bad Mojo

-BioForge

-Mario & Luigi

-Metroid Fusion

-Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of the future

-Zelda: Minish Cap

And yea.. Conker: Live and Reloaded, has really blown me away with its music --- absolutely outstanding.

What else has he done? I like the music he's been making for beatmania IIDX recently.
Contra Shattered Soldier (with Yamaoka)
Suikoden (with Yamaoka)
Gungage (with Yamane)
Elder Gate
Rumble Roses

etc.

Most Konami games...

Valkyrie Profile(yes it's sometime repetitive, but the soundtrack is amazing)
Wild Arms(don't really know if it's underrated)
Earthbound(although it has been mentioned already soundtrack is so good that it deserves to be mentioned a lot)

BURN:CYCLE (cdi/pc)

just awesome music and i am glad, that i bought the special edition for pc back then, because there is a extra ost in this package.

Blade Runner game, by the way does anyone here have the extreme CD soundtrack, there are 10 original copies and its great, but i only hear it by playing the game. i think they called it the Westwood Edition or something, i would surely like to get it even in mp3 format but i cant find it.

A lot of N64 games had underrated soundtracks simply because most were in MIDI format, and not "fully orchestrated" and such. I don't think it's necessary to have extremely high "quality" music for it to be good. GoldenEye, Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark (actually the quality was even pretty good on this one), etc. all had kick ass soundtracks and weren't "CD-quality". :D

Oh.. And the original Sonic series are a bit underrated too. I know we all love them, but Sega ignores them. We got a Rockman 1~6 OST (still no 7 & 8 though), X1~6, etc. but Sega has yet to put out a damn soundtrack with Sonic 1-3, both 3D Blasts, etc (at LEAST the original games though).

That's true! But not suprising. I think it's pretty much common knowledge that SEGA doesn't want to make any money.

Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness (by Aubrey Hodges)
A wonderful soundtrack... and it still amazes me to this day how well the songs fit their atmospheres.

Soul Blazer (SNES)- I hear a lot of Yuzo Koshiro ACTRAISER praise, but not nearly as much SoulBlazer OST praise. I can still hum the 'dream' music, 'town' theme, and weird toy factory song.

Just Trust ME on this one.

Oh yeah. The soundtrack kicked all kinds of ass in the game. The opening them is simply amazing. I'd love to find an mp3 or midi of it.

im being dead serious. The theme song, level 3, level 4, boss music, last boss stage music, and the underwater theme are all perfect.
