This isn't looking good. Romney even coming close to winning is a bad sign.
ShockingNbc said Georgia Romney.
I don't like the electoral college system, but omg is it exciting, like an american sport or something
Red states report in first dudeI'm done voting and I'm just settling down with a beer in hand to ride out this Romney upset. Well! Look at that. Romney already taking a commanding lead.
People freaking out over the south. Obama is not going to blow by RomBot till the west coast reports really.
2008 was an outlier. The state is consistently red.How did Indiana swing so much in 4 years?

"Too early to call" =/= "Too close to call" in newsmedia-speak.Really? The republicans haven't won Georgia outright yet?
BBC showing 19-3 Romney
Now would be a good time to remind people that pro-Romney counties are more likely to come in early in any given state. They're typically smaller in population and more rural and thus easier and faster to count. Additionally, the vast majority of states in Romney's base is going to close relatively early in the night, and they're going to be easy to call. Also remember that Obama has 78 relatively easy to call electoral votes coming his way at 11 pm.
Yeah, most of any state.California is what....55?
And just like I predicted, my vote in Indiana means nothing.

Can somebody explain the electoral college to me? I know what it is and how it works, I just have never heard a compelling argument as to why it exists, or why it originated in the first place
