The most populated Republican counties are almost done being counted... Romney may jump above Obama for a little while until Miami-Dade and Broward are finished being counted, but if he is not way ahead before those counties finish, I think Obama will take it.

I'm not sure what it's like this year, but in 2008 it was like 40% of Obama because a lot of democrats have moved into the cities. Basically every major population center went for Obama, and the entire rest of the state was deep red.

Because of that demographic trend and the growing hispanic vote, Texas is expected to be a swing state in 2016 or 2020.
