Thanks for the tip, now I can watch sane election coverage.

Al JAzeera is the best news network I have access to, imo. They also have amazing 20 minute news segments, like the recent one about the state of Baltimore city. They're amazingly free of nuttery.

I'm gonna rub one out to these pics after Obama is reelected, who's with me?

She does have quite a tight body. Smanging it would be unquestionable. That said, gross. The image of you doing that :p

But vote YES for rubbing one out.

Does anyone know whether the Daily Show's coverage, which is being livestreamed on the CC website, will be available in the UK? I'd be inclined to wake up early for it. We can't normally view stuff on the CC website, but I remember watching the Rally for Sanity online.

Obama isn't going to lose PA. If Obama does lose PA early you may want to just turn off the TV as you aren't going to like the results from other states (assuming you're a Obama supporter).

Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. I figure OH is more a safe bet than PA, but my motto is:

"Be a pessimist. That way you're always right or you're pleasantly surprised."

Edit: And absolutely, I'm an Obama supporter.

Voted for Obama this morning (and Donnelly for senate), but I had to get up at fucking 6 am to do so. I had work in the morning and school right now until 9:40 so it was literally the only time I could vote. My sister isn't voting because she has work until 7 (polls close at 6 in IN) and she didn't get up early enough to make it to the polls before she had to go to work.

This is why I can't fucking fathom why election day isn't a national holiday. I'm one of the most politically motivated people I know and I still almost considered not voting because of how inconvenient it is and how busy my day is. I can only imagine the amount of people who would vote if they actually had some fucking free time on election day.

Also, my state rep and state senator positions were both Republicans running unopposed. Fuck this state.

Why couldn't you early or absentee vote?

Yeah, they're really going to live up to their nickname "the keystone state" for this, aren't they? At the least if Obama losses PA it's harder to imagine him winning throughout the country.

Also sure it's been posted, but just in case..

Christie going all in:

And he said to me, 'Chris, of course. Do your job, don't worry about me. I'll take care of things.' So all this other noise, I think, is coming from know-nothing, disgruntled Romney staffers who, you know, don't like the fact that I said nice things about the president of the United States. Well, that's too bad for them."

If romney winz the election, I'm gonna be so pissed at americans. I already think you were really stupid to have bush... TWICE, but this is beyond everything, why would anybody vote for a flat out liar who thinks about rich people while dreaming.

Don't disappoint me America plz.

Here's my guess re future voting patterns: (this is assuming Republican Party does not change in a radical way)

Regardless of what happens this election, Virginia will be a reliable blue state 2016 and on. So will Iowa and Wisconsin.

Arizona will be a reliable blue state before Ohio.

Colorado becomes reliable blue before Florida.

Democrats will lose Jewish vote gradually. Jewish electorates that feel passionately about Israel will reliably vote Republican going forward.

Unless you want to watch/know every little update, I'd start watching around 9pm...maybe even as late as 10pm EST. There's really no other reason to watch any sooner.

Personally, I'll be doing the family thing like normal, then some Halo 4 for about 1hr, then I'll tune in for updates.

Someone needs to make a meme about US democracy.

Something like:

"Worlds most famous democracy, trying to spread it

Mitt Romney still has a chance"

RE: Dennis miller

Not a surprise. Miller is a very passionate fire-breather who has a gut-feeling tell-it-like-it-is approach. Obama is a meek, quiet, dialectical, compromise politician. Even notwithstanding policy differences, they're a very poor match in terms of personality.

I watched his HBO show back in the 90s or so, mostly for the funny Clinton pictures. He had that slant to him, but he still seemed moderate. I thought he fell off the planet after HBO nuked the show for good. Looking at his Twitter, he comes off like a Limbaugh type, the sort he used to rant against.

Al Jazeera had a guy dropping depressing truth bombs about campaign finance on both sides. Going all old CNN on everybody.

In NY you have to be either out of town or disabled to get an absentee ballot. Not sure how it is in IN.

I applied absentee but didn't get my ballot due to Sandy and now I'm a bad citizen. :(

I got my absentee last week in Indiana because I knew I was going to be out of town for work. There's no real way for them to know if you are actually out of town though.

I know early voting was open last week as well.

If New Hampshire gets called for Obama early, Romney is toast. If New Hampshire is close, its going to be a long night.

Also PA isn't a tossup state.

Hardly. Donnelly is an anomaly. Mourdock could have carried this if he didn't commit political seppuku during the debates.

Glad Donnelly is favored to win, I voted for him, but I don't expect this to happen often.

Glad to have that input...I confess to not following IND politics as much as I should, so keeping him in is healthy.

They just said on MSNBC that Virginia has had a bigger turn out this year than 2008. Truth?

Last two elections I voted in Florida. This year I voted in Virginia, and I had a 40 minutes wait in the freezing cold at 6am. That's crazy.

It's the state of every candidate professing to be more conservative than the other, including the Dems. But we did swing blue in '08 (even though we won't this year). Things aren't hopeless in my state. We have the potential to become blue someday, but not any time soon.

I'd say Virginia will be the real teller. Since their polls close earlier, a win for Obama there pretty much seals it. Romney win doesn't seal it for him, but leads to a longer night.

Is the right wing turning on Christie? I heard a little of Rush's program today and he seemed to be mocking Christie for "crying" after talking to Bruce Springsteen.

Haha in Pennsylvania people have been complaining about the machine. They cast a vote for Obama it counts it for Romney. Very Simpson like. They fixed the machine.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
So is New Hampshire a haven for a lot of conservatives? I figured all the north new england states were heavily liberal. Then again, I guess there's a lot of fiscally conservative fatvats up there....
