I have a bad feeling about tonight... Am i crazy or does it seem like there is a lot of "Romney is going to win Ohio" going on?

Hasn't Texas been seeing a bit more blue action the past few years than usual? Or am I imagining that? I swear I read about that somewhere, even if it's still not near close enough to make a difference.

There was certainly a large swing in the popular vote in the last presidential election, with nearly all the metro areas in Texas going blue. With the added electoral votes it's still going to end up in favor the of the Republicans for a few more cycles, but it's probably just a mater of time and demographics before Texas will be contested again. There's also a pretty strong streak of libertarianism in the state that might end up working in the Democrats' favor in the future.

Eh, after the '08 debacle from the media and their reporting on how "close" the race was going to be, I just can't take any of what they're saying seriously. They want a close race for ratings.

I don't see Ohio voting Romney. Not after the bailout discussions.

Well, I'm finally off to vote. We Republicans like to wait until after a good hard day of working before heading to our polling stations to pull the R lever. My Presidential vote won't count in MD anyway, but at least there are some decent things on the ballot to vote for-- YES on questions 6 (gay marriage) and 7 (casinos). If I manage to slug my way through the army of black panthers guarding the door, I'll be back just around the time the lib media starts prematurely calling this thing for Obama.

Pretty much this.

IMO for the Republicans to survive in general, they need to substantially change their stance on immigration and adopted the more libertarian view (as assimilated into the Republican Party).

I thought Maryland was going red :p

Al JAzeera is the best news network I have access to, imo. They also have amazing 20 minute news segments, like the recent one about the state of Baltimore city. They're amazingly free of nuttery.

She does have quite a tight body. Smanging it would be unquestionable. That said, gross. The image of you doing that :p

But vote YES for rubbing one out.
This post in its entirety is weird.

Hey good for you, yes on gay marriage. At least +respect for that

Not the Al Jazeera part. I was just being silly for the second part, because I felt saying you're going to rub one out if Obama wins is just sort of weird in general :p

Just got back from voting in St. Louis County. Then I went to the library (also a voting station) to pick something up and got exit polled/interviewed by a guy claiming to be from the New York Times (didn't think/bother to ask for an ID). Had politics still been on my mind at that point I would have made a Nate Silver comment.

You may have been joking but I'm not really in the mood today.

He probably was, but that's one of the things that bugs me the most in the political threads. So many people troll for laughs that Poe's Law goes haywire and I can't tell who is serious anymore.

Is there a separate thread for discussing propositions? Washington, Oregon, and Colorado are voting today on the legalization of recreational marijuana and I want to discuss this
