SoS and Measure 97 are about the only things on the Oregon ballot that are competitive. They could both go either way.

Trump is scaring the f*ck out of me.

How the hell did he even manage to have a chance.

Americans will have a lot of questions to answer even if he loses... Is there any way to engage with at least some of the Trump voters?

In the end I couldn't pull the trigger on Trump. While he's someone who I really wanted to vote for on an emotional level, you have to realize that he simply isn't a true believer, just another GOP snake oil salesman, only more bombastic and less intelligent. I am glad he ran, and I hope his movement continues to grow and eventually pushes the Grover Norquist chamber of commerce types out of the party. This time it was free trade, in four years it might be regressive taxation, or lax financial regulation, or labor rights. I work for a gigantic financial corporation. We've had a few presentations that have basically boiled down to "we won't tell you how to vote... but vote for Hillary"

Well, after Romney lost it looked like the party was in the midst of an identity crisis and was seriously going to need to re-examine its priorities and come up with a new or at least modified coalition to win a presidential elections. Poor results among Latinos was particularly noted as a real problem. So what did they do to court Latinos? They nominated the guy who promised to build a wall to keep them out and make Mexico pay for it.

I think it's wildly overestimated how few women are voting for Trump. If the female support for Trump was as low as some make it out to be, he'd be hard pressed to win a single state.
 
Already voted last week in Seattle.

Didn't have to because Washington and Oregon are the most liberal states in the US, but I did my part.

The ballot dumpster was secured by a wimpy looking lock. That worried me.

It may not be that sinister. It's possible he's having trouble reading the ballot and needs help deciding which circles to fill in. Or perhaps he has no idea about any of the races other than President and just wants to know how she voted in them. It's sad that neither would surprise me about one of the major party candidates this year.

The problem for them is that the evangelical/white middle and lower class demo is so easy for them to manipulate. Giving that up for these assholes is going to be a lot harder than it seems.
 
Did the Trump campaign not make a Spanish version if their site or have any Spanish commercials like they said on CNN? That's insane

No one should be wearing any thing which references any of the candidates inside the polling place. It is illegal.

Yeah... I don't like Hillary (or Trump) and I've been vocal about it at times, and been dogpiled as a result. But Alucard's "my ballot" post is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen on the site.

At least fucking admit you were playing the "long con" troll. I could respect that more, and I could laugh about it. But if that post is sincere, Alucard, I agree with stumpy, you have lost the right to ever talk politics again imo. Have some principles. Have a fucking backbone. Seriously.

(If it was in fact all an act for the past year, that's a different kind of absurd, but as I said I'd almost respect that more (though that may have been more likely to get you banned than an alleged 11th hour change of heart.)

Sure. But I just mean does Frank Luntz have a really good track record or something? I mean, he's a Republican pollster, so I have reason to question whether his methodology is good or if he's being a pundit here right off the bat. But maybe he's respected in the field? I honestly don't know.

I just don't get why one claim with no data to back it up is making people flip out and think Michigan is going red.

If Arizona and Texas surprised us, and is within 3 points; I expect to see some house GOPers pushing for immigration reform. Democrats just need the Senate.

While sky high Latino turnout, Hillary owes it to them to get Reform done ASAP. And there will be another fracture in the GOP.

Remember when Rubio was going to be their cure-all with Latinos (despite ignoring the significant difference between Cuban Americans and many other Latino groups).

Yeah, I'm going to report them. I hope something can be done about it but if I have to give a specific name or face, it'll be hard as I have a real time hard remembering both.

I agree about 2012, but I don't about 2008. In 2008 the lesson learned was that McCain wasn't conservative enough. A legitimate conservative would have beaten Obama and the only reason they lost was because McCain was a RINO.
 
Aslo, btw, I voted for Hillary. In Ferrum, Virginia in case anyone was wondering.

And the sample ballot they gave out was paid for by republicans. :|

not voting for either of the two main candidates will give third parties more of a share. this election has been dismal.

I think what they'll take away from this election is that they need better control over the nominating process. The story they'll tell themselves (and it's probably true) is that Cruz or Rubio could have beaten Clinton soundly.

It is. But at the end of the day, I'm guessing female percentage voting for Tump will be right around what the percentage usually is the for Republican candidate. Many folks make it out like almost no women are voting for Trump, when that clearly isn't the case.
