They did. There was also smart shooting to show the goblet go out of sight by Margery after Tyrion hands it to Joffrey

Do you think the Dontos necklace will come into play with it? I kept an eye on it during the entire scene to see if a stone went missing and it looked in tact up to the point when Dontos told Sansa to leave with him.

I love all the little fake outs and suspenseful bits. Feels like they were thrown in just for people who knew what was going to happen.

"Look, the pie!" From Margaery. Such timing. So good.

Wasn't there something with Sansa's hairnet in the book? Like there was a pearl or something that could have been poisonous? And it may have ended up in the cup? That was removed

Nope Olenna took a stone off...it was pretty subtle. Far left stone was missing.

Olenna plays with the necklace right at the start.

There was a stone missing when Olenna was talking to her. The one on the far right facing her.

Could've been Robb. I don't think you ever see their head.

Yeah Robb's dwarf had a wolf head on and a mask underneath when he was "decapitated". I highly doubt it's the same person who will end up playing Penny, but they kept one face hidden so they can keep the back story.

The other scenes seemed rushed a little. The ending though, simpy awesome. I guess the show will try to fast forward a lot of details

Also, enough with the Reigns of Castamere. Way overplayed at this point.

I think it's not gonna be played as often anymore. ASOS was entirely about the climb of the Lannisters to become the most powerful house in Westeros, and their time in the light. By the end of this season, it's probably not gonna be played anymore at all, since that's when the Lannister family just completely falls apart.

Also since it's been established that Brans visions can see the future...book spoilers with the shadow of the dragon over kings landing

I just watched the last 10 minutes again. Man. So nailed it.

Got goosebumps all over again.

I can't wait to see that final fantastic shot all over the world tomorrow, haha. Cross-eyed. All the thin streams of blood coming out of every orifice. It's so horrifically well-executed.

I thought Bran could only see stuff that happened within the vicinity of a heart tree? Or am I remembering that wrong?

glorious, simply glorious.

plus Sigur Rós' Castamere was amazingly perfect for the scene.

The King is Dead! Long Live the King!

They nailed Joffrey's death. Totally nailed it.

I always thought the whole throat-clawing stuff would be a little unnecessarily histrionic on screen. Showing off Joff's burst blood vessels and bleeding from the nose is far more effective.

They showed the throne room roof missing thing again as well. I'm starting to think that is pretty much confirmed. So the dragons rip off the roof in the winter perhaps? Wait a second why was the dragon shadow in a non winter kings landing.

Perhaps that's saying that Dany wins the throne in the end and the story ends after the snow is gone.

I love reading the starting speculation from the Unsullied about who did it. Most seem to suspect Sansa or Dontos lol.

Was Margery in on it?

I wouldn't be surprised if she was in the know, but it was orchestrated by Littlefinger and Olenna, and Olenna was the one who dropped the poison into the cup.

Uh well maybe there's a tree somewhere in kings landing I dunno...

I suppose he could have been seeing dragons of he past

But there was also the snowy throne room scene again, from the houses of her undying in season 2. Guess that is happening.

Edit: I'd have to re-read adwd but I coulda sworn he could see the past and the future through the heart trees

Maybe there is a time gap between those two events..
