I wouldn't get Stoneheart hopes up. All it would confirm is that they're probably keeping Brienne in the Riverlands to do the Brotherhood plot instead of sending her North, but the Brotherhood doesn't necessitate Stoneheart. If they're in, they're going to be hanging people in the woods with or without Stoneheart involved.

I agree though, if real that summary sounds great. I wish they'd talk more about what was discussed at Winterfell, but that's probably too many details for someone who hasn't read the books to pick up on. Interesting though that the Bolton's aren't discussing Littlefinger's impending arrival, or else I'd think they'd mention that? Also that the Night's Watch election still hasn't happened. Guess they're holding that for episode 3.

Questions have been directed to the owner of WotW as we speak, and she is seeking to confirm or deny.
As to the Boltons discussing (or not) LF's arrival, remember this is a non-book reader, LF and Sansa going to Winterfell would be no big deal.

Only if you read too much into it. We already know that he's trying to cut down on his commitments.

The significant part is the fact that he believed he could have finished last year, this means that A. he's probably close to done, but more importantly B. He wants to finish it this year.

He said he wanted to finish last year. Like he wanted to finish ADWD in 2005. It's not saying anything unless you are choosing to read that from it. He may be close, he may not be. That quote doesn't tell us either one.

Why do you guys torture yourselves like this? lol

I HAVE TO BELIEVE! I also just bought this cool hand painted Targaryen banner off of Etsy so I'm kinda pumped for some ASOIF action. Blood for fire, fire for blood.

Re the possible spoiler post for episode 2, we've just heard back from WotW:

Sue the Fury said this in reply to my enquiry:

"Breaking emargo on a screener is very much against the rules so I can’t confirm anything.

I’m not even going to click on it. I’m rather tired of being spoiled, myself."

So she won't be the one to verify it for us.

Bummer. We'll have to wait til more screeners check in before we know what's true and what's not.

The feeling is mutual. We're all pretty tired of spoilers at this point. Of course, no one's complaining about the access and insight from sources, but this year far more is known going into the season than years previous.

Besides, finding out the plot of an upcoming episode is of much lower priority and interest than finding out casting calls, script leaks, filming locations etc. The episode will air in a few weeks. At this stage, with all we already know... why spoil the one thing that's left?

Everyone keeps speculating about when and where so and so will die... but when will we get our first nude scene? Who will it be? Will the be an increase or decrease in the number of boobs this season?

Also I just finished The Sworn Sword graphic novel. The Dunk and Egg stories are nice adventure tales with memorable characters, I would love to see HBO turn them into a miniseries down the line. Though the eff, I was looking up the story on the ASOIAF wiki and it turns out Lady Webber is Tywin's grandma? That explains a few things.

Some people are informing us on tumblr that the Kindly Man/priest/acolyte in that Arya clip is played by "the Seer from Vikings".

My faith in the intelligence of man has been destroyed.

I... Don't even see how the misconception is happening there?? You mean the like messed-up face, no eyes guy? Who's like, albino?

He wants it out before S6 airs.
That's the impression I get as well. He's said he might cancel some more 2015 events depending on his writing progress, which suggests he has a specific goal in mind. I think he wants to finish before he goes to Mexico in early December. The con appearance he cancelled was scheduled for early November; by canceling it he will now be home throughout September, October, and November. That's probably his planned final stretch, but he probably has to make a lot of progress before then. I wouldn't be surprised if he cancels a summer event as well, to give him more prep time; he won't be attending Comic Con in July.

Finishing in December could allow for a March or April 2016 release date. Obviously this is speculation and we've been burned before but I just get the impression he's in a good place right now. He's clearly past 900-1000 MS pages.

Yo neogriff do you know what the big shocker is at the end of episode 3?

Well no one asked my opinion, but
my best guess is it's just Sansa showing up at Winterfell and the reveal of that plot. They specifically said shocking to book readers, so a major plot change works just as well as a death, and Sansa has to be arriving around then so Littlefinger can have time to warm up his jet pack for the trip to King's Landing. Plus the potential surprise deaths that seem likely to happen this early in the season are all in Meereen with Grey Worm and Barristan, and I think that's way more like in episode 4, which is actually name after the Sons of the Harpy, so we know something goes down.

Wait, which site do you work for/own/or whatever else?

A Highly Scientific* Analysis of GRRM's Progress On The Winds of Winter

I didn't know PD was writing for Deadspin now! ;)

Here's what I'll call the Super Pessimistic Prediction: If The Winds of Winter will be 1500 manuscript pages and George was at 375 manuscript pages, and he keeps his 204 new manuscript pages/year pace for 2012 going, we can suppose that George currently has ~783 manuscript pages of The Winds of Winter currently complete with an expected completion date of early-to-mid 2019.

But that's not a shock if you've seen the trailers.

It's a shock to a critic who got to watch a screener and hasn't watched a trailer frame by frame. All we know is that this particular critic found it shocking, as someone who had read the book. What shocks them may not shock us.

Easier recast to swallow than Daario. Just keep the mask on! Easy money.

Well, I think I speak for everyone else in this thread when I say the original Rattleshirt's performance was deeply moving to me, and I am outraged that D&D would pull a stunt like this just to save money on the assumedly gargantuan sum they must've been paying for that masterful original actor.

Also, just saw the update about this on Watchers and
the fact that he lists only one director — the guy who's doing episodes 7 & 8 — seems like another nail in the glamor coffin. Looks like he's a Hardhome-only character. No chance of secretly being Mance.

Did you see the other update?

I'm getting too hyped for the whole Hardhome business. If it doesn't play out as expected, I'll be incredibly disappointed.

Yeah, hyped. I mean, the original Reddit story about Hardhome mentioned the Night's King, so I figured he would be back, but it's good to have confirmation. Also, I never really thought about it before, but I guess they cast a real actor for the Night's King and not just a model. I wonder if we're going to get some real dialogue from him at some point.
