Are you sure Production Studio 4 is doing the PS2 port of RE4? Well, what's left of Production Studio 4...
Pretty sure, though it's obviously not the GC RE4 team (who's since mostly moved to Clover). There's an outside chance the port's been shifted to Studio 1 or 3, but it's most likely still within Studio 4 I think.

Resident Evil 4 (PS2)
Viewtiful Joe: VFX Battle (GC/PSP)
Viewitul Joe Scratch (DS)
Killer 7 (GC/PS2)
Devil May Cry (PSP)
Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (PS2)
Basara (PS2)
Four Mega Mans (Handheld)
And two new Clover projects

Is weak to you? Jesus, what does it take to impress gamers these days?

Tanaka has PSP games in development, so that'd be under Studio 1 right? I'm hoping he's the one behind DMC PSP, he said that he wasn't going to do a DMC4 which kind of makes me think that he isn't.

Yeah, Tanaka mentioned at least one more PSP game in the works in addition to DMC. The rumor's RE Outbreak, but I'd prefer Monster Hunter myself. He mentioned they might do more 2D fighter ports too, but nothing concrete. Those would probably be done by Studio 5 though.

Sorry :(

I hope he's doing something original for the PSP. The PSP seems to be taking the path I feared - PS2 lite. Enough with the ports!

Well, Clover Studio announced that one of these new projects will have Shinji Mikami involved with it, assuming I read the announcement properly...

I feel bad for Studio 4 :(

They went from the leading driving force in the industry to one of the weaker studios of Capcom.

I think Studio 1 and Clover is where it's at now.

Studio 1 mostly for Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry 3

Studio 4, really only did two things great, DMC1 and RE4.

DMC series on PSP? WTF?

So it's not a new game. But just DMC1, DMC2, and DMC3 on PSP?

Meh, only worth if it it's all three games in one with edited content. i.e, making DMC1 easier, making DMC2 harder, and making DMC3 MUCH easier (speaking in terms of average gamers, not action genre elites like myself :D )

But I agree, Capcom is weak.

I think Onimusha is going to be it's biggets title at E3.

So where are the people who said this version would suck and not be the same because the same team didn't port it?

I don't think this is confirmed; Capcom hasn't said anything about the PS2 version since releasing the PS2 version confirmation letter and that was in December 2004. It could have been canned by now or something.

Totally new game, apparently with "different" gameplay used to "suppliment the series", whatever that means.

Here's hoping it won't be DMC:Card Battlers.

DMC:Tactics would be cool. I'd love LOVE a DMC side-scroller though.

No way! They will show new stuff at E3. My guess is they dont want to disturb the GC release right now.

Devil May Cry IN 2D!!!

Devil May Cry: Poetry of the Day >>>>>>> Castlevania Symphony of the Night....I can see it now :D

DMC pwned Castlevania in 3D, why not own their ass in 2D as well.

If I may ask, where the hell do you get all this Capcom info >_>

That makes sense, announce the PS2 version BEFORE the GCN version release and then don't talk about it again so it doesn't disturb the GCN version.

Capcom Studio 2 needs to make a new Megaman with the Metroid Prime engine; that could completely own. Plus, if there was ever a series in need of "freshening up", god knows it's Megaman.

When you consider how much trouble they say they had porting Killer7 to PS2, I can only imagine Resident Evil 4 is causing many late nights for the development team.

Did they have trouble? What's this from? I know it wasn't announced for the PS2 in the US for awhile cause of SOny approval, but hadn't heard anything about technical difficulties...

Capcom Studio 1
-Devil May Cry series (PSP)

Capcom Studio 4
-Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)

Clover Studio
-Viewtiful Joe Scratch! (DS)
-Viewtiful Joe VFX Battle (GC)
-Viewtiful Joe VFX Battle (PSP)
-new project (tba)

I'll be interested to see what's happening with these titles at E3.

Edge has Studio 1 down for Haunting Ground, who I thought it was also--you sure it is Studio 4?
You're right, it is being done by Studio 1. I'm pretty sure of everything else though (except RE4 PS2 obviously).

Who is this Axsider. I doubt he works for Capcom, the employees aren't allowed to go online to game message boards ever since Ben Judd (head or PR Japan) was getting threats from Nintendo fanboys regarding RE4 going to PS2. They said they were going to hunt him down and kill him and go after Capcom's main building.

Nintendo fanboys are sad :(

...and scary...

Seriously? :lol

That would be Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Producer of Resident Evil 4.
i'll take his word, thanks all the same.

other than Killer7 and maybe the new Onimusha, the rest just doesn't seem to be there. Im not really too interested in the VFX Battle but if it turns out well, then i'll check it out.

after losing all the talent at Production Studio 4, Capcom just doesn't seem to be at the greatness that it was just mere months ago.

I think someone from the K7 team said that it was difficult to port it to Ps2

Axsider works for Sony AFAIK. :)
