The Starbites is a story-rich, turn-based, RPG where you team up with new friends, upgrade your Mecha while adventuring on the devastated planet "Bitter" in the aftermath of a space war.*

Turn based combat is enhanced with an extra gauge called "Drivers High" that gets filled by attacking or being attacked - that let's you make tactical decisions, at will, that may turn the tide of battle.*

*Had to ad-lib the description a bit as it was in somewhat broken english. Which is ironic since my own english sucks

Primal Planet- A metroidvania where you play as a caveman family trying to survive in a world of dinosaurs, evil cultists...and who they worship and work for:

Neon Inferno - Wild Guns inspired game only set in a sci-fi future rather than...sci-fi western time:

Operation Zero - Top down run and gun that looks neat:

Night Striker Gear- The non-indie game, M2 making a Rail Shooter, the genre of Star Fox and Panzer Dragoon, in a fast paced sci-fi setting:

Never's End is a turn-based tactical RPG where you return from death into the midst of a global cataclysm. Possess townsfolk to use them as living weapons, wield the forces of nature to reshape the battlefield, and lead mankind back from the brink of extinction.

Command the Elements

The world of Never's End is deeply simulated and completely interactive. Temperature, weather, wind, water level, and even the density of the earth beneath your feet can all be manipulated to gain the advantage in combat.

Drain rivers dry or flood the battlefield. Create rain and fog to hamper your enemies, or mighty winds to hurl them over cliffs. Freeze your foes or set them aflame. Reshape earth to gain the high ground, or melt it into deadly lava. Every battlefield is rife with opportunities—a well-placed spell can be the difference between victory and defeat.

Possess your party

Only you can survive the Never. Rather than recruiting allies, you must possess them—burning away their self and soul to turn them into living weapons. For each companion you gain, another life is lost: doomed to fight at your side until either you succeed, or they fall in battle.

Reclaim your world

Fight your way through an open world of rain-soaked jungles, blistering deserts, and freezing tundra as you explore the wreckage of a forgotten golden age. Cleanse corrupted settlements, awaken long-dormant temples, unearth lost technology, and then reap the rewards as civilization rebuilds in your wake

Destroy the Never

Your path to victory is your own. Will you hunt fearsome beasts to upgrade your temples, or establish new towns to grow your ranks? Will you trade lives in search of greater power, or prove your skill by heading straight for the Never's heart?

There are many ways to prepare for the final battle, but every choice has consequences. The longer you take, the more lives you'll require… and the stronger the Never becomes.

This just came out a few days ago and looks fucking sick imo

Supposedly has a very in depth skill/stat system with a lot of build variety and leans heavily on the ARPG aspect as well as being a roguelite.

The devs have plans all the way up through 2026 with free content planned.

I have "frontlog" (opposite of backlog) on my spreadsheet
  • trails in the sky remake
  • crimson desert

  • lost helden
  • octopath traveller 0

Nice, looks great, thanks for sharing.

I got a few (seeming) gems from this thread, and also nice to see others are waiting for same games like I do, long live this one!

There's just so much in indie space that looks insane and exciting, but sooo easy to miss. Like I almost always accidentally stumble upon such masterpieces, greatly received as well, but I got no idea it existed at all.
I wish this forum had an actual gaming section apart from industry/gossip/controversy/e-celeb/junk opinion useless drivel.

Just saw this WIP game from a Japanese indie dev on my feed, and the idea of speeding at 5000 km/h sounds super cool! It doesn't have a Steam page yet, so I can't wishlist it, but I'm def keeping an eye on it.

More gameplay in this video they uploaded on their YouTube channel (has 2 audio tracks, one in JP and one in EN).

Twisted Metal Inspired game. Honestly it looks pretty fuckin decent, added it to my wishlist. Trailer is old as hell but the game just came out yesterday.

Project Motor Racing

Slightly Mad Studios senior dev core
NFS Shift and Project CARs

I love Slightly Mad despite them never quite getting it all the way right. The highs of Need for Speed Shift contain the best simcade controller racing in the world. The total package leaves a bit to be desired, but it is always installed on any of my rigs. Pcars is great. Neither 1 nor 2 give me the total career mode package I like in Forza Motorsport titles, but the racing physics are impeccable for my taste. The passion for cars is present in every frame and I think that's what counts for me.

Project Motor Racing is their new simcade game under a fresh start new studio name. There's some exciting stuff in the physics department and all the little advancements you'd expect, but the thing I'm most excited about career mode.

You see, it is a true sim. When you start out, you're broke. The cars you can afford are slower than the field. Oh and think twice about diving into those turns. All repairs have to be paid for, and finishing races 19th doesn't pay really well. So you have to be frugal at the dealership and behind the wheel. You're not expected to even get Top 10 finishes for quite a while.

This sounds intriguing as fuck to me.

I've been wishlisting quite a bit on this page. I'll add one more, Fumes:

While it is *technically* out in early access, I'm definitely anticipating the 1.0 version/console release, so I won't buy it until then. Different outlets (and gamers) have been discussing how fun this game is.

PvE Mad Max + Twisted Metal insanity with what looks and sounds like really fun gameplay loop. Here's their roadmap:

Immersive sim supreme. Picking up where Looking Glass studios left off, and basically ignoring the slop released between then and now. I've played the first map in Early Access and decided not to touch it again until it's fully complete. A real GOTY contender whenever it releases.

Been excited for this one for ages. Waiting for it to come out of EA first though. I can wait.

I stopped a couple hours in because it was already presenting the trappings of a classic. Wanted to play it start to finish on my first run. The lads playing through the Early Access are truly doing a service to the world by spoiling themselves early. I still get the updates notes in my Steam feed and the size and scope of some of them is well more than I expected. Looking around, honestly it might be the last video game when it releases.

Since this forum is starting to sour on any game in the soulslike genre I figured I'd post this here instead of making a thread about it. Looks like it could be fun once it is out of early access:
