They're giving us more digital rewards because they're slowly phasing out physical rewards. I wouldn't mind if the games were actually good.

Dr. Mario and Puzzle League Express just makes me wish for new 3DS versions of those games.

Meh, not interested in any of this, and I have most of it. That's disappointing to me. I wish it was the GBA version of Mario Tennis.

Should I get Mario Land 2 or Wario Land 2? I never played either. Big Mario fan so ML2 is a safe bet; never played Wario Land game before... tempted to try something new but there's a chance I won't get into it.

To be fair if they are going to have 8 games each month it is praticaly impossible to be 8 GOOD games EVERY month.... even if only that good is subjective

Mario Land 2 is awesome. It's bizarre and all over the place but it holds up really well for a gameboy game. It has an "open" structure where you can finish the worlds in any order. It also has some wacky enemies that were never used in future mario games, like Jason mask wearing Goombas. I recommend it.

Would it kill them to put up a few game OST's as physical rewards, Elite or otherwise. I mean I'm fine with a free game but if thats what they are going to do then give away a game people want, I got a better game (Pikmin 3) from buying Mario Kart 8 then I do for a whole year of buying Nintendo's games and consoles? Does not compute...

I read your comment and think of some comparison picture I saw of a woman who has a lot of clothes but "nothing to wear" versus a gamer that has a lot of games but "nothing to play". It's amusing. If you've got coins expiring then do a give away or gift someone a reward. I know what it's like to be completely disinterested in the selection.

Was gonna save coins for physical rewards..but it looks like thats not happening. :(

Personally, I love it but that might have something to do with it being one of the first games I ever unwrapped on Christmas morning. It's got great music and graphics though. You could do a heck of a lot worse as far as gambling games go. Also, it's real easy to beat with save states, naturally, so you can unlock the final casino right away on the Wii U version.

I thought about getting Super Mario Bros 2, but since the Gameboy Advance port is available in Japan, I'm expecting it to come to North America. I rather play that one and not deal with the blurriness and darkness of NES virtual console games.

Thanks. I was looking for the slightest positive thing, as 250 coins isn't a huge loss, nor is $1.50 to upgrade to the Wii U version. :)

If N64 virtual console was avaliable for the WiiU I would get Star Fox without thinking twice ... but playing on classic controller sux =/



....what are the odds of any news regarding n64 titles on virtual console this month ? =P

Just wanted to give a big THANKS to Team Top Hat for the Star Fox 64 code. It's been years since I played the game and it feels like the summer of '97 all over again. :)

Also wanted to say if you're hesitant to play Star Fox 64 on a Classic Controller, don't be, just takes a bit of getting used to but YMMV. I personally never had issues with the CC for any game and have always liked using it.

Edit: On a side note, anyone have experience with these N64 controller adapters that hook into the Wiimote? Actually might get one in the future:

Well, the only reason i dont get Star Fox 64 from club nintendo right now is because i already have more star fox 64 than i need :)

Also, it seems nintendo is focusing on digital rewards for club nintendo... so there´s little chance that you will really miss this coins someday soon..


I think i like the game A LOT because i played it A LOT back in the days, all the medals, all the modes...
imagine how i felt when i unlocked the
on-foot multiplayer option
, considering at that time we didnt had the internet to tell every little secret of a game months before release
But aside from my nostalgia googles, ask anyone and the answer will be the same: one of the best games ever made.

Alright, this month really appeals to me with the rewards. I grabbed Dr. Mario Express, Puzzle League Express, and Mario Golf.
I love puzzle games, and I keep reading that Mario Golf seems to be pretty good. Can't wait to try these out!

I haven't chosen my platinum reward yet because I'm a slacker and I have a question. I'd rather get a free Wii U game but I don't have a Wii U yet.. will it be a problem getting one? I assume they just give me a download code like with the monthly games, but do the codes expire? If so, when?

I wish they would just retire the "Wii / Wii U" stuff. Are you guys actually booting into Wii mode and using a classic controller on these games? I also don't like knowing they will disappear when Nintendo's next system is released.

What are they doing over there? Just port them to full Wii U versions already.

I hope they are just focusing more on digital games. I don't want to regret making this decision lol.

I've just started getting into my 3DS and I want to know if this SD card will work with my console?

If I were to purchase Mario Golf (GBC) with coins, would I get some DDP money? I've only purchased stuff on the Wii U eShop so far so I don't know if 3DS games count towards the promotion.

3DS eShop titles DO NOT count towards the DDP, only Wii U eShop titles.

Sucks, I know. I would have gotten so much more if 3DS stuff was included.

Yep. Any <=32 GB SD card will automatically work. >32 GB will work too, but need to be formatted in a special way.
