Well, I wouldn't say judicial misconduct (which that judge thinks happened, as did another judge, Peter Espinoza, who actually was petitioned by both Polanski's lawyers and the lawyers of the victim's family to drop the charges) doesn't matter, because part of what makes justice just is that it's carried out by the book. I think Polanski should serve time in jail, but I think people should be aware that if Polanski were extradited back here (which, if this one didn't go through, I don't think he ever will be), it may not result in the justice they desire to see carried out.
Edit: Bodacious, that's true, but considering two separate contemporary judges have said that Rittenband engaged in misconduct in his handling of the case, to the extent that he may have to be freed as a result, I tend to think he probably was a shit judge.
