Kaine can botch this debate, but I'm still voting for her. Trump/Pence is not an option. At all.

I'm sure there's a lot of people here who have already made their choice, but anyone tuning in without any sort of information but this debate can say that Pence's demeanor and composure is slaying Kaine's.

Kaine is RIGHT about what he says, but he's so exciteable and weird about it.

We are going to fulfill the obligations of Social Security and Medicare.

We are just going to change those obligations.

This is very, very bad. Kaine is, simply put, a bad debater. Pence, while a liar and a typical soulless Republican, is presenting himself as calm and mostly respectful.
Pence from day one was low energy and calm. This shouldn't be a shock to anyone. Look back at his introduction with Trump.

Unfortunately like John Kasich, he's a fuck on policy and morals.

I'm thinking Kaine is trying to push Pence with his speaking, keep Pence from loading up his prepared speaking points and force him to speak off the cuff, where Kaine can cut him down with facts.

He sounds fake. He sounds rehearsed. The way he talks and his intonation, it sounds like he's repeating a script. It doesn't sound thoughtful.

At least he has things to say.
I also agree he has to butt in or Pence will control the entire thing.

Funny thing though is Pence is getting a little unsettled.

This. Pence needs to be called out the second he tries to BS his way through a response.
He's controlled (like a radio host) but there's no substance there.

Kaine is making some of the mistakes that Hillary was so good at avoiding last week. He's getting bogged down refuting specific details instead of attacking him on the big picture. He's interrupting Pence in a way similar to how Trump interrupted HIllary. He's emotional in a way that was more akin to Trump in the last debate than Hillary.

He's making good and fair points, but his delivery of this message seems sloppy and reactive so far. It takes more than making good points - you have to present this points slickly, efficiently, and professionally.

Kaine has been heating up. Pence seems a bit throw off now. Not the strategy I would suggest for Kaine--but I can tell by his smile he is comfortable and in the zone. But his focus egts narrowed and attack the small stuff that doesn't help his ticket.

Kaine started off poorly, but he's hit his stride now. I still personally prefer Pence's debating style, but Kaine's effective.

This format is just garbage because they call it a "discussion" yet interuppting looks bad, yet there aren't timers so you can just talk forever with lies and make the other look like shit for trying to get in.

Yeah this isn't good. Pence is looking like the balance to trump the GOP establishment wants and needs to go out and vote.

Actually maybe Pence isn't winning as clearly as I thought, he started interrupting more and a lot of the worse parts for Kaine may not have reflected well on either candidate

Kaine's response on Police relations is fine but the attack against stop and frisk is good

Kaine is playing to his own strength, which is that he's details oriented dude that really, really cares about people and can't abide a lie.

it's making him rudely interrupt at times, but I think it's the right strategy for who he is.
