Kaine started off a complete mess, but I think he found his footing after the first 30 minutes or so.

Ultimately I don't think Kaine "won" it, but he totally prevented Hillary from taking any real damage, while Pence failed to defend Trump on any level.

Mike Pence did a good job of making Mike Pence good to people who are into that kind of thing, but he didn't make Trump look good.

Religious people love bible quotes. Kaine popped out a bible quote. Pence didn't. Kaine talked sincerely about his own beliefs. Pence was on the defensive for even that.
