"Trump is all about rebuilding America. He had a hard life like you!. He'll unite us. That's why he should be president."

Trump already started off with millions of dollars inherited from his father. And has gone bankrupt many times. And now his platform is about appealing to the most hardcore racists out there.

Those who are saying that either Pence or Kaine handily won: Are you judging that based on your perception of who was better at debating, which of them changed more votes, or some other criteria?

Kaine had a rough start, but I came away pretty happy. Once he timed his objections better he was good.

Pence sounds like a President person though if you don't listen to his words, so I can see a lot of people thinking he won. Especially if you're one of those "let's stop fighting!" people.

Tim finished strong, Pence fucked up big at the end and those soundbites are going to haunt him in the coming weeks.

I think Dems will come away from this a lot better than the GOP.

Agreed. Kaine seemed to repeat talking points too much

When you are running against a fucking troglodyte supported by troglodytes, this is all you really have to do.

A tie is a big win for Hillary here. Even better is how clear it became that Pence had no answer for defending Trump's fuckery.

Shit was tied
This is my feeling as well(On substance though Kain won hands down), but on the replay it's going to be a Kaine win easily because of the awesome ads they are about to run with the material he gave them. Cut to Trump saying some bullshit, Pence defending him, and then both of them lying about it.

kaine, much like hillary, had a shaky first 15 mins or so but then absolutely demolished pence. that last 10 mins or so was especially brutal for pence. it's not ALL his fault, because he is being forced to defend the words of a fucking idiot, but god damn

There wasn't time. Climate and global warming is always the last topic that comes up in these debates, and when they both go over their time, there's nothing a moderator can do.
So climate change always gets bumped like some afterthought talk show guest. Awesome. Debates imitating real life.

This world is fucked.

Meh. It started out rough for Kaine, but by the end, I don't think either of them really came out on top. Too many non-answers, too much talking over each other, too little substance.

This shouldn't realistically move the needle one way or the other, but since this is fucko 2016, Trump will probably get a 2 point bounce for reasons.

Eh I feel like the story might be a Pence win simply because Kaine was consistently less calm/collected at least facial expression wise

Kaine had some great points but wasn't always delivered in a good way

Pence just espoused BS for an hour and a half except for abortion because that was just evil ooze out of his face hole

Curious if Pence gets a worse truth score than Trump from the fact checkers

Eh, Pence's style may have been a bit better, but he's a piece of shit through and through and the substance of what he was saying made me so ridiculously angry I can't even explain. Hard to say who "won" that.

All I'm going to take from this debate is that Pence is cool, collected slimy trash and "you whipped out that Mexican thing again"

Kaine really brought it around. Good for him.

I think anyone saying that Pence unequivocally won are people who looking at the image and not paying attention to what he was saying. He was constantly on the defensive and resorting to tactics like forced laughs and shaking his head on issues. For an hour and a half he never had one good rebuttal to the myriad of Trump quotes Kaine tossed out. All he could do is deny that Trump ever said those things, which only works as a tactic so long as you don't fact check the fact that he did.

Kaine was over-eager and over-interrupted, but Pence let him in. While Hillary did that, too, Hillary at least had solid, sharp rebuttals after Trump interrupted her. Pence had no such comebacks. He'd let Kaine slide in there, hit him on some points, and then just respond with "that's not true."

I started off this evening fearing for Kaine. But the more I watched and the more you pay attention to what each of them is actually saying, it's pretty clear that Pence was pretty hollow on most of his points.

Pretty much what I expected. Too close to call as a biased Democrat, but I thought Kaine did a good job pressing Pence.

This will do nothing to the polls imo.

I can't imagine a single meme coming out of this debate. Both veep candidates managed to avoid an embarassment, which means this debate will be quickly forgotten.

I like that Kaine managed to get his footing, but those first 20 minutes or so were really rough. Hope first impressions don't overtake everything else.
