Valve Officially announces Source 2. (+ Steam Link + Steam Lighthouse)

So basically Source has become something akin to Direct X, rather than an engine Valve uses internally to make games.

I remember when Valve launched Source, they actually had gameplay to show with it. Valve really is no longer a game development house. Sad.

What are you on about?

Are these two statements competing with each other over which can be more incoherent?

Appears to be a drawing of the controller. Image is from the trailer of one of the HTC Vive games, skyworld

So it's the sony navigation controller? I can't really see that being true.
Doesn't look like the Sony controller. The large circle could be a haptic slide pad like on the steam controller. Also appears to have some sort of grip thing sticking out on the sides.

Edit: Ahh, the move navigation controller.. Yeah looks similar.

I really just want to see source 2.

Yeah, even if it's just a techdemo with not even hints to HL3 / L4D3. Whatever that engine's capable of is pretty interesting since it's a preview of what "content creators" will be able to do with it for free.

Pending good reviews, I am going to buy that Steam Link. I've been kicking around the idea of a Steam machine, but there's no point if I can use my already powerful desktop PC and stream it to my TV for $50.

Steam Machines seem more like a decent place for console gamers to get a foot into PC gaming and need some hand-holding in the form of a console-like experience. So yes, I think the Link will be better for you if you're already a PC player.

You can look up the Dota 2 Authoring Tools. They are supposedly based off Source 2 and come with a whole new set of SDK tools.

SteamOS sale is on - and looks like it is getting some heavy hitting games such as Batman Arkham Knight and Shadows of Mordor

Going to be giving my PC a substantial upgrade in the next week or so and decided to throw a Steam Link and controller into the build. My experience with streaming on the XBox One has been positive enough that the idea of running my Steam games straight to the living room sounds enticing.
