Venezuelan president called a ‘Grinch’ after seizing nearly 5 million toys

I didn't know that makes stealing OK. Good to know!
It doesn't, that's why the democratically elected government of Venezuela is redistributing these goods to their proper owners.

Or putting them in a warehouse. In either case, nobody will be paying the inflated prices!

Who are the proper owners but the merchant that imported them? If the owner of those toys wants to let them rot in a warehouse that's his problem. They're HIS. Same if he wants to spike them whatever much. It's not a hard concept to grasp. No one else should have a say.

Today the Government told P&G and Colgate that they have to forcibly "sell" (stealing again, of course) them 50% of the products they make so they can "redistribute" them. I guess that's cool too?

The thing you're looking for with the "stealing is bad mkay" line is rule of law, something that seems to be in short supply in Venezuela. Like a great deal many other things.

Venezuela's ruling party self-identifies as socialist, so it is the actual topic. And if people don't agree on definitions relevant to the topic, they have to suss them out before a discussion can even happen.

There's another thread for you right in the top of the page. Here we discuss Maduro stealing toys from a company because shits and giggles.

Meanwhile he also invalidated the 100 Bolivar bill (the largest denomination available, about 2 US cent and about half the physical money supply in the country) and gives people only a 10 day window to get them exchanged.

This kind of klepto-socialism is probably the worst form ever invented. "Make private investments but we'll steal them when we feel like it". Maduro makes the GDR look like a great place.
