Either way both would be good propositions for the price. At that point what's selling the Scorpio will be extra power and some extra feats like 4k blu ray. But of course ps4 has better exclusives

That and the one s/ps4 slim would about 199, which is great

Oh. This actually makes SO much sense.

They've been moving the digital stores closer and closer for a while. They've also been working on KB+M support for Xbox for a while as well.

Having the same non-userland code doesn't mean much to end users. If it's truly a Windows 10 S PC then that would be verrrrrrry interesting.

Play Microsoft games on PC and enjoy the warm sensation of Phil's loophole.
 
Are people really using a random image from google image search that comes up when you search the release date as evidence for the price of the console? I can't want for the implosion when it turns out to be $499.

I see it now: the masses will be boasting about 6 teraflops. Scorpio owners will be pictured all over twitter posing with their consoles, throwing 6's with their hand signs as if they belong to a powerful gang. The hash tag will be "#6greaterthan4".

This is the real outcome. A bigger uptick in PS4 sales, maybe even Pros too if they drop the price on that as well since it will have been out a full year by the time Scorpio comes out, a year is a fitting time to be able to afford a price drop for their own upgrade system. Even more so in the other worldwide regions.

I also think it will be 399, but saying this is obvious in any way and saying things like "lololol PR working wonders" it's a huge stretch and your insistence on that makes you sound like you're setting up the ground for some concern trolling if it turns out to be more than that.

I don't think 399 or 499 will make much difference for the "console race". I don't think there is even a race anymore. Scorpio is not a new generation, they don't need to price it competitively with the Pro and potentially sell it a loss when the vast majority of consoles sold are still the old SKUs. Sony has won the mind share this generation and it will take a huge fuck up from them for that to change. Microsoft should just focus on being successful on their own terms.

If you wanna go that route Phil talked about an upgrade before any Neo rumors came to light. And honestly does it matter? They were both working on something but with different plans and agendas on how to execute.

Concern trolling? Whatever dude. I'm a sales guy. If they price it above $399, I'll call them out for it because they won't have learned jack from the beginning of this generation. I don't really care if it looks like "concern trolling" to some passer-by Xbox fans who can't handle even a little bit of critique.

But luckily, it won't be above $399 because MS today isn't the same MS that started this gen off.

I'm genuinely shocked this doesn't come up more. I referenced it a while ago and I don't think anyone knew what I was talking about. Corporate shills on here just straight up lying about their product then ghosting is astounding.
 
Here is the Phil Spencer quote I was talking about earlier:

So we designed a console for 2016, and a console for 2017. We were kind of working on both plans simultaneously. And at some point, we got to -- let's just call it greenlight. For what we would do in 2016, and we sat around a table not too dissimilar from this and said, I think we need to do more than what the silicon is that's available in 2016 at a price point that a console customer would want to pay. So that's when we stopped that effort.

The full reasoning for that decision may never be known but it's possible the Xbox team also received word of the "Neo overview" document that was floating among select developers and, later, journalists early in 2016.

No matter, a lot of poeple, myself included, believe the Pro is overpriced for what it is. There's not enough there to justify the price tag.

If this put a fire under sony's arse to drop the pro down by 50 or more dollars that would be fuuuuuckin perfect. I would love to see a Pro/VR bundle that wasn't ridiculous before fall settles in this year. Would love to buy my girl VR and have it setup and ready for xmas!

And a dope price point for Xbox people. Legit power in a machine? solid... Hopefully they bundle it (or at least show it off) with Crackdown. That would put asses in seats for this thing for sure.

What is your point. He/she said they (Microsoft) announce Scorpio before rumored Pro specs. That's not true. And every post or laughing gif doesn't dispute that.

Never suggested that Microsoft copied or one upped Sony based on pro specs. Simply said that pro rumored specs (ps4k) and info were out before Microsoft officially said anything.
