I don't think 399 or 499 will make much difference for the "console race". I don't think there is even a race anymore. Scorpio is not a new generation, they don't need to price it competitively with the Pro and potentially sell it a loss when the vast majority of consoles sold are still the old SKUs. Sony has won the mind share this generation and it will take a huge fuck up from them for that to change. Microsoft should just focus on being successful on their own terms.

No games? You do realize that there are many third party games that are bigger than any publishers first party line up several times over right? Nirolak knows what I'm talkin about. I tried forever to find your post about this bro but I failed... Could be remembering what mod made the post wrong as well but I know it was one of you.

And that most third party exclusive content is garbage and is absolutely not going to make up for being able to play the entirety of the game at a better fidelity...

Or maybe you do know this and that's why you are salty?
 
I hope MS has some new awesome games to announce, if they want to get cocky again. I don't mind it if they have some stellar games in the pipeline.

People just tend to buy whatever console is better for third-parties and if Scorpio's the best, I can't see why not, this generation is far from over.
Though Switch is gen 9 already.

They need some great games and I'm rooting for them to surprise us. MS badly needs a studio(s) capable of delivering games like Naughty Dog.

I'm hoping they have a few completely unannounced games to show off that really blow us away. kinda getting tried of the Halo/Forza/GoW meme. they need to start putting out content to buck that trend.

The casuals will go for whichever is cheaper. The PS4 Slim and X1 Slim will make up the lions share of the their respective company's console sales.

Those saying Scorpio specs, intent was revealed before the PS4 Pro specs...you sure?

Just threads on here have the Pro specs out in April 2016, I dont see anything about Scorpio specs out before then....

Remember it was the codenamed Neo before it was officially named Pro.

So... Microsoft recently revealed Windows 10 S, a version of Windows that only runs Windows Store apps but you can pay to upgrade to the full version. Could it be that Xbox 10 S runs Windows 10 S out of the box and you can pay a fee to upgrade to full Windows too?

So what's the point in you saying that if not to suggest that? My point was simple. It doesn't matter who said what first. What was rumored or leaked first. They were both working on something with different agendas.
 
Has anyone at Microsoft actually confirmed they'll keep the codename "Scorpio" as the name of the actual console? I love the name and actually hope they keep it. There's already a ton of awareness regarding the name, I think MS would be kinda nutty to drop it.

Also, chances we'll get a price and release date? Pretty good I think?

They still need more than just 3rd party games, that's what people are saying. Xbox has been severely lacking in 1st party titles and I hope they come back strong this year.
 
Not trusting them with consoles until they prove that they won't cancel most of their interesting announcements before release.

Besides, my xbox one hasn't even really been turned on since they've been releasing most MS games on PC, so probably a waste to buy one anyway.

So the other definition is not valid apparently. Sure, man, y'all love companies so much. A MS employee was on an enthusiast message board making factually inaccurate claims about their product and that is apparently totally fine.

Please be $399-$349! Learn from your mistakes and successes MS! The 360 and Xbox One S did well with an entry level price skew.
 
a lot of this stuff honestly seems like people are grasping at straws and trying to read into something that isn't really there, we'll find out for sure in just a few more days though
 
Still going to wait and see what the state of their games are going forward but I can honestly say that if it releases at $399 I'll be interested. My current gaming PC is long in the tooth and it would simply be more economical for me to buy into Scorpio to ensure I get all of the play anywhere titles I want rather than upgrade my PC. Gives me time to put money aside to do a mammoth PC upgrade later.

But if they go through E3 and the only thing that interests me is Crackdown 3 (assuming it makes an appearance), I don't know if I'll be quite as enthused.
 
$600 is also > $400.

man, the scorpio will make xbox the king of console power again, but its alleged higher price tag is makin me not want it no more. i also don't think it'll outperform the Ps4 sales-wise because of this either.

not saying it doesn't have a chance at success, but it doesn't have a chance at beating Ps4.
