I played it a long time ago on a GTS250 and it was perfectly smooth. There could be compatibility issues with newer stuff but other than that you should be fine.

Yes but I hope his performance is better than in UMvC3.
I think he needed to go back and listen to his old soundbytes. More gravel was necessary.

It doesn't seem like the style switcher works on PCSX2 anymore. ): I don't have money for DMC3 right now though so I guess my replay will be of PS2 DMC3 SE.

So to try to give some context on events here:
There were three instances of mod intervention here, taken by three different mods in response to three different triggering events. The first was in the |OT| creation thread, where we were alerted to a dispute about |OT| creation. Stump went in to explain the rules -- and essentially to ask people to stop acting like children -- in the hopes that everyone would take a deep breath and move on.
After that happened, another mod saw that Dahbomb's response was to go into other threads and discuss his belief that there was unfair mod intervention in the situation. Since we highly discourage cross-thread drama and because this response was pretty much the opposite of what stump asked participants to do in the first place, he was juniored as a way to clearly send the message that OT creation has to be a collaborative process and "owning" a thread so you can prevent others from participating is not what we're interested in seeing.
The response to that was to continue to complain and ascribe negative intentions to everyone else involved in the process -- that the other people engaging in the |OT| creation thread were doing so in bad faith, that "the community" was now "put on blast," etc. At this point this behavior triggered our typical response for someone talking in a community-oriented thread about a conflict they had elsewhere on the site in the hopes of bringing other posters over to their side -- a short time-out intended to signal that this behavior is inappropriate.
Let me restate the underlying mod positions here. First, |OT|s don't belong to a specific community or group of people. Community thread voting for who will make an |OT| is never going to be binding and we will not take it into account in situations where there's a conflict. Furthermore, the whole idea that an |OT| has to be made by an active participant in a specific community thread is extremely unhelpful. We're a big forum and there are many more fans of any given game than the number of people posting in one specific thread about it; we want everyone to feel free to participate and we want to make sure community threads don't become insular, negative places that drive off new posters, which gatekeeping |OT|s definitely does not help.
|OT|s are also not supposed to be a competition. Only one person can actually post a thread, but if more than one person has something to contribute we'd prefer they all work together. When users come into conflict, it's better to assume good faith and try to work things out directly through straightforward communication, but at worst to quietly recuse yourself from the situation; trying to make the conflict bigger and move it into another venue is definitely not appropriate.
Finally, just remember that the mods all talk to each other frequently, we generally come to consensus on issues once they're brought up, and we trust each other to handle situations appropriately since none of us can see or moderate every thread, so "mod shopping" or trying to get one mod to overrule another is strongly frowned upon -- we will know that you did it, and it won't be received positively.

I can't seem to find it at the moment! I've only turned up the PC version for some reason and the original post on that message board has been gutted.
Not really. Last I checked it still had a tendency to run like shit even with music files turned off.
Top to bottom, it's a garbage port performance wise.
Last time I tried, that was on a 4870, though.

Flawed as the game's campaign and some other niggling issues are, DMC4's combat engine is sublime. Props to Neo_G and crew for making something so awesome, and I can't wait to see what fixes they may have added.
I'm torn between finishing my replay now, or just hold off for a few more months and effectively "start fresh".
Honestly, completely changing/eliminating certain puzzles would go a long way in washing the bad taste out of the mouths of people who hated the story progression.

I still firmly believe if they added a more varied second half of the game it'd probably be the all time greatest action combat genre game. As it is, still one of the best.
Man, I can't wait. If Vergil is in, I bet there's other improvements too. This is like a dream. I may never get another true DMC game after DMC4, but this is a good consolation prize *swoon*

The poor port seems like it was fixed by the community, so I'm not too worried about that. I already own the game on PS2 (and by extension PCSX2) and the HD Collection on 360, but I'd be willing to get 3 on PC for the modding.

I'll be putting alot more time into DMC4 between now and 4SEs release to prepare. And Im really looking forward to more news in the coming months on Vergil and some of the new additions.

Oh, I definitely. And even Guardian's suggestions about taking away some things like the puzzles and "orb hunts" would go a long way to making it even better, not to mention whatever they may add along with V.
But you gotta believe that DMC5 is coming, man. All this Classic Dante hype we've been getting in the likes of DLC collabs with BASARA and MonHun4G CAN'T be for nothing~!

I just have a hunch that DMC4SE is going to have some megaton announcement beyond Vergil. I think there's a big reason why they're getting all of the DmC
E out first and are letting DMC4SE effectively come out on stage last. It seems like they don't want whatever's coming for DMC4SE to overshadow DmCE
