VG Cats #323: That Time Of Year

Keep 1 and 3, ditch the rest.

An odd comic.

I'm genuinely impressed at how fast these are coming out...and they're okay, even. Must be all the ideas he's had but forgot to communicate them...

It actualy has a deepest meaning .... because they are totaly lovers.

And Cloud is sad that Sephiroth forgot the beautifull day they finaly meet for realz

As an Accountant, I can even tell you the joke literally doesn't work.

Aerith wasn't Cloud's "dependent". A "dependent" has to either be your kid (by being blood related or being a guardian), or has to be a parent dependent on you for care giving status, that sort of thing. Aerith was a grown ass woman with no legal ties to Cloud and thus Cloud couldn't use her as a dependent.

That first panel simply makes no sense.

I mean, I get the whole "let's remove a panel and it still works" thing, but...it likely literally adds nothing.

Oh, form. Like a tax form. I get it.

Kill me.

Are vgcats threads some kind of NeoGAF tradition that juniors like me are completely confused by?

I seriously don't see any other webcomic about games posted here. I guess a new vgcats is a pretty momentous occasion (lol slow update joke).

"Not even my final form"

Form as in form to fill out. Like tax forms. He's complaining he's not even filling out his final form while trying to make a double entendre of bosses having multiple forms.

Still not funny.

I don't get the point of the first panel?

Sephiroth, a final fantasy villain, is filing tax forms and he is not even on the last page of documents. In final fantasy games, sometimes the villain will reveal their another form past their original appearance, signifying that the battle will take longer than anticipated. In short, Sephiroth is expressing his anger at the near endless amount of work he has to do through a fondly remembered phrase from the series.

It's a joke that plays on the word "form", therefore, you should initiate laughter. Come, join us all in an uproar of guffawing.

I like that he's playing a better FF game on the TV and there aren't any fucking cats in it, but that's about it.

I don't generally get the hate for this comic but yeah, this one is pretty bad. What's the point? Is the entire premise to justify working with the pun "This isn't even my final form?"

Just... why? Why is this a thing? There's no purpose. Why are they roommates? Why is he doing taxes? Seriously, what's the point?

And this:

It doesn't even work. I feel like I'm missing something big here.
