There's talk of a closed door MS event happening March 5th, 6th & 7th. We're hoping to see some leaks today or tomorrow.

Is that Microsoft employees only or are there 3rd parties involved? If it's the former I don't expect leaks, but with the latter there's a good chance we'll get new info

The number of highly rated games that are on the Xbox 360 and not the PS3 is pretty much the same as the vice versa (highly rated PS3 games that aren't on the Xbox 360).

Why can't those 360 "Good Exclusive" games be made in part by Kinect titles that people thought were good, but people here don't want Kinect?

They're internal meetings, I believe. There might be a good chance of leaks as they have employees from all over attending.

3rd party devs, from what I understand/thought I read. I believe there's notations of it over the past few pages. I'm just being too lazy to look it up right now.

That same link indicates the "users favorite" game on the 360 that year was Dance Central 2............
Meanwhile the "users favorite" on the PS3 was Uncharted 3.

One game was worth buying. The other was UC3.


Still waiting for that big leak that's supposed to be dropped today. The one that proves Durango is a monster and not just a competent game-playing media box.

There's every chance the only thing we will hear about Durango between now and April will be 'also coming to Next-Generation Consoles'. I can't imagine GDC will slip past without something coming out though - Xbox 3 will be the big fat silent elephant in every room. At least the ones PS4 is mentioned in anyway.

This is really annoying, there is any reason to be "hyped" to the Xbox platform, no hype for Xbox 360, Xbox 720 neither Windows games (phone and desktop).

MS is leader only in USA and only with Xbox 360... what about Windows Phone or Windows 8? whare are the MS games for those platforms?

Its been one bloody battle this whole generation and looks like its going to get worse coming up. There are soldiers everywhere trying to prove their console of choice is superior. It often spills over into just about every thread these days. Its sickening.

It's actually been really quiet on the console war front, at least on GAF, for several years now. This gen has been long enough that a lot of people just dropped arguing or wound up buying the other consoles at some point anyway. The early next gen fever has brought it all back. It sucks in to follow these threads closely sometimes because I'm interested in the industry and how tech shapes it, not trying to get ammo for a console war argument. I've been open for a long time about wanting PS4/Durango to be as equal in power as possible but unfortunately it doesn't seem like that is going to happen this time so the claws have come out on both sides again. Looking forward to the games finally hitting so we can talk about those again and the console warrior battles die down.

I have no idea what MS's plans are for integrating the Xbox brand with their phones, tablets and OS. I imagine it's significant given what Phil's job is. Personally, if I were trying to create cohesion between my new console and phones/tablets, I wouldn't want those devices to be Surface or WP8. These plans were most likely made years ago, so I'm sure the hope was that WP would take off, Surface would be a rousing success, and Windows 8 would be a monsters. 0-3.

There's supposedly an internal Microsoft Xbox briefing today but I think leaks from it are unlikely, at least they won't get out today. Everyone there is a Microsoft employee and the reason we've had leaks of specs is because the specs are in a lot of various devs hands around the world so it's hard to track. A leak from Microsoft itself, from a small pool of people, is highly unlikely. That's part of why we haven't gotten many game leaks with any specifics, no one wants to ruin the hype for their own game and make it blatantly obvious where the leaks came from. Probably won't stop some "insiders" from popping up and making claims though.

There is a few things that puzzle me about VGleaks. By staggering the leaks they risk being beaten to the punch with news.......so what makes them so confident? And with the whole SuperDaE connection, why are Sony/MS not going after them? Very strange if you ask me!

They could center it around streaming since physical media for movies isn't doing too hot right now. That said, I think they'll probably have it but the "no blu-ray" rumors could just be interpreting no movie playback as that.

Supposedly they're underpowered because they want to focus more on the media options, which makes the no-bluray rumor weird. Unless they're going always-online and all-digital, which obviously would also lead to the no-used-games rumor. This could also be the product of the "two Xbox" theory that Microsoft has multiple devices coming out.
