A lot of these are not very authentic in their use of color and resolutions, plus making one single fake screen is way easier than making a game, obviously

There have been some nice looking KS projects lately. I can imagine really nice pixel 'retro' looking games becoming a trend this gen. Maybe not for old franchises, but who knows. The unexpected announcement of an existing series in a similar art style would be fun.
