So there are four parts to this VN, the first three are already well underway with translation work almost done. The last part they say outright that SP has already given funding for to Staga-nana. You listen to them talk about this and you wonder why this needs to be crowdfunded at all. There are 2 parts to this project:
1) Remake a lot of the old existing material w/ new artwork and voices and stuff, and bring those over. That process is already well underway, with myself translating about 2/3rds of "A Little Iris" as of this evening, and a second translator that we've hired working on -Zero- in the past month (give or take a bit).
The new artwork, engine integration/programming, and testing, will probably be the biggest blockers on these chapters, not the TL.
2) There's the new material, specifically chapter Sumire. It's something that Stage-nana has wanted to do for some time, and we've stepped in to provide funding and support for.
The same person who created the magic in the previous games, Tomo Kataoka, is doing the same magic for us in this new chapter. It's entirely new material that's being written right now, and will be brought over too as part of this project.
Fault prequel game? Silence the Pendant, right?

It sounds like this project is mostly done and funded, but SP is doing this Kickstarter to make back the money they've already spent on it.

Yeah, that's the one. They're apparently working on that next, but it's not out yet.
Honestly, the visual novel crowd is far too lenient, Sekai Project would've been eaten alive if it was kickstarting games for any other crowd.
Shizuka, can I add you on Steam? My name is jazz846 there just in case you're wondering who you're getting an invite from.
After funding Grisaia and Clannad i thought SP would come to a point were they would start licensing and produce games with their own money. Oh how wrong i was.
Dunno if i want to support any more of their kickstarter like Chrono Clock or Wagamama High Spec. Especially while other publisher like Mangagamer are far more open with their informations about translation progress and uncut version releases while paying for licenses out of their own pockets.
JAST USA paid for Steins;Gate. Mangagamer paid for Flowers and Himawari. No Kickstarter for relatively big visual novel titles.
Flower's JAST.
Anyway, I agree with what has been said here. Way too many kickstarters without a solid day on more than half their stuff.
I seriously have to start wondering if Kickstarter itself doesn't have a "ceilling" on how many projects one can create before saying "that's enough"

Still a shame for the few people who would have been interested.

Yeah. I think it's largely a product of a crowd that's been under-served for a long time.
It doesn't matter to me how long they've been working on it. I just want them to stop doing Kickstarters, until every single physical reward is delivered. Non-VN companies would get eaten alive if they behaved like this. Just because VNs officiallly localized in English is a fairly new thing, doesn't mean they deserve special treatment. Neither MangaGamer nor JAST, need Kickstarter, so why does SP need to, for so many projects? They need to stop doing Kickstarters. They need to deliver all their physical rewards. And most of all, they need to be held accountable, and actually admit to their mistakes and their absolutely atrocious mismanagement of their KS projects.
They really shouldn't be defended. How will they ever learn if people don't stop backing their projects? And no, whether I back it or not doesn't change whether I can criticize them. I've backed many KSs for them, but I think they're starting to be a little bit much.
Because they've done more than enough Kickstarters by now. They need to stop relying so heavily on it. And I don't like them doing more KSs, when they haven't even delivered all of their rewards.
MangaGamer is having a Fall sale until the end of the month. There are actually some good games on sale too. I probably shouldn't link it, but it's advertised on their main page.

But you also quoted the post, codes and all!

@Malaysia, that is our normal price thanks to our currency.Remember I said the Go! Go! Nippon DLC wasn't available on Steam? Well, apparently it is now.
Also, many people don't really care who takes their codes, so I don't see it as a problem.
Edit: Amnesia: Memories is 50% off on IndieGala.

Btw, will mangagamers add all of their game libraries @ Steam in the future?
The game prices set in my country's Steam store will beat USD$.
How about Kara no Shojo and Cartagra!?
OONYX Games have released the first clip of English voice acting for Super Health Club. I'm pretty impressed so far, I wasn't expecting it to sound so professional considering it's such a small company, but they got some good VAs. (The guy voicing the MC talks a bit slow, but he still has a nice voice. The other dude sounds pretty great IMO.) I think this is probably the first gay dating sim with English voice acting, so I'm glad they're putting a decent amount of effort into it.
Here's the clip...

It's age locked, but there's nothing adult about it. Just a guy standing in his underwear talking about movies.
I'd definitely disagree with you on the artwork. Dongsaeng is one of my favorite artists and I've ecstatic he's providing the art for the game.>decent amount of effort
The art is kinda "eh", the presentation looks awful (seriously what's with that text box), the text doesn't match entirely with the voiced lines, and the main character sounds dull.

Someone ported VNDS to PSP and Vita homebrew.
...this means Ever17 on Vita.
...YES
I wish someone would just insert the english script to the PSP version, myself.
Is the text the same though?
Thought that the PSP Infinity games included extras, no?
I just wish we'd get the PSP versions translated and on Vita PSN (or even better, a physical anthology)...
Leave the untranslated content as is, just insert the english text where it's been translated. I wouldn't mind. I wish we knew who owns the rights to the games now, probably 5pb?

IIRC, the only extras are added Tips for Ever17 and Never7 + the whole infinity series timeline.
I ordered a Surface Pro 3 that will be arriving today, and I plan on upgrading it to Windows 10. Is there anything I can do to make VNs more touch-friendly in general? I'm figuring this question is a longshot.
Honestly, most of them work fine with the touchscreen just as is. With my crappy-ish Windows tablet, just tapping the screen will move the text forward (essentially the left click), and holding it for a bit brings up the right click menus, which typically brings up save/load/menu/etc. The only problem I had thus far is with Amnesia: Memories, as right clicking doesn't do anything and things like skipping to choices and whatnot is relegated to keyboard stuff... but I'm kinda hoping that they updated the UI a bit to make it better, I haven't played it since release. I mean, when I played it you couldn't even exit out of the game without taking it out of full screen mode
I will mention that I've only played like 5 VNs on the tablet thus far, though, but as long as it has the typical mouse functions it should work fine (especially on a Surface Pro)
Speaking of announcements, keep your eyes peeled for something a little… darker later this evening (ゝω•
Princess Evangile is getting a hardcopy LE from MangaGamer.
And they're teasing another announcement for later:
