Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

I keep getting an error when trying to install FTP. Says "could not copy some content items. (CO-7935-4)"

I have the ftp zipped like so: PSP/GAME/FTP/EBOOT.

The zip name is HOMEBREW.ZIP

Is that not correct? Why is this so difficult?

I'm on a mac. If that matters.

edit: okay got the ftp to install. Had to delete the exploited save data from the vita then install as new with the ftp homebrew in the folder already as one. It wouldn't add and overwrite/replace new files to the save data.

Now my FTP is started but I do notice it says 0MB Free. I think whitehawk you mentioned you had that problem as well. Is it a bug or did I do something wrong?

Mine says 0MB Free and has something to the right of that (something like 88% then some numbers), but I don't know what either of those are referring to. It works regardless.

Was really finicky today while I tried to add the FFT patch, kept randomly disconnecting. Sometimes while moving files, but also randomly while just changing directories. Weird since I wasn't having any problems previously.

And I wonder if Ark of Napishtim will run any better on Vita. Would make that PSP copy I picked up right before the Groupon giveaway useful for something.

Yeah it says 0mb free but that doesn't matter. I think it's because it's a modified version of a PSP app so it hasn't been updated to read how much memory is left on the Vita memory card.

Well for what it's worth I simply can't get the FTP app to show up, I did it exactly like I did it for SNES9x but whenever I extract the FTP app it simply vanishes :/

My .zip file looks like this: H.ZIP --> PSP\GAME\HBFTP\EBOOT.PBP

Downloaded 1.81 and proceeded to download shitloads of PSOne games off PSN Store (thank you PSN+). Love me Sony and support all things PSP without CFW and I may never have to do so! As of now, I'm holding off from using CFW but try it out to see how well unsupported titles and emulators run.

Can I backup Mad Blocker Alpha to my computer so that in the event I format my memory card one day I can then put it back on my Vita? Since the exploit has now been patched by Sony.

Once sony releases 1.82, you won't be able to transfer it back since you have to have the latest firmware to connect to PSN. And you need to connect to PSN to use the content manager.

My PSP games file names are longer than 8 characters, lower and upper case (and have spaces), and end in ".cso"
All work so far. Need to start ripping new games.

That's why you install the Open Content Manager.

How does Sony fix these exploits? Are the games just individually patched so that they force you to go online and update it in order to boot it up or does Sony also fix the exploit with an os level firmware update?

My Vita is on 1.80 and I have MH purchased. I downloaded 6.60 TN-B for MH but I have no idea what to do with the folders in the .zip

They fix the hole in the PS emulator via FW update. Then the game gets put back on PSN and exploit cant be done anymore.

I wonder if those kind of exploits are the reason why we can't acceed to Vita savegames in any way or save them individually to the PC, like we do with PSP or Minis.

I suppose that they want to prevent an exploit in a Vita retail title savegame, because in this case, they won't be able to take it out from the PSN, and anyone with the correct firmware could use that retail game to hack the Vita.

Hmm, good point. Didn't think of it that way.

Yeah, this is exactly why!

To the guy above having trouble with ISOs, Tekken 6 doesn't work (if that's the one you were trying), but it should be fine in the future. The current CFW uses 333mhz (which Tekken 6 won't run in), but in the future I'm sure we'll get the choice to change it back down.

Encountered a weird bug/problem.

I added Peace Walker ISO to my save game exploit folder and it shows up in the TN menu and runs fine. I then add Hot Shots Golf to my save game exploit folder and it black screens when I launch Mad Breaker Alpha. I don't even get to the TN menu. I get an error code. Yes, I have tried both putting them in the ISO root folder. Whether it be in ISO folder or save game folder they both encounter same bug/problem.

By themselves they both work, though. If they are alone in a folder. It's only when I have multiple ISO's/CSO's in there that it black screens on me. Really annoying.

Anyone know of this issue? Again, all my games work by themselves! (4 games total - Peace Walker, Hot Shots Golf, Crush, Liberty City Stories) Just not when together in same folder!

Weird. I'd recommend just going the FTP route as it seems to be the most stable/easy.

Tried that. I've honestly been at this the past few hours trying different combinations and it still doesn't work. Must be a bug. Does anyone have 3 or more ISO's on their memory card and encounter anything similar?

Edit: fixed issue by restarting vita wtf.

Pffft. Just makes crackers want to break the protection. As soon as they do that I'll dance a merry jig and back up ALL my saves on that front.

awwwwww yeaaaay I'm back whatup whatup!!!

I spent like half an hour trying to get this darn snes emulator to work,

tried a fresh batch of roms and concluded that... it dont work -_-...

of the handful I tried the only two that worked are Goof Troop and Super Off Road.

the thing these 2 have in common is that theyre both of the 512 kilo file sizes.

any other roms I had were like 1 or 2 mega sized,

so trying to run like R Type 3 or Zombies Ate My Neighbors resulted in a black screen of nothing...

I can still access the emulator's menu tho... are there certain settings I need to make these bigger roms work?

coz after trying and trying I have no idea how whitehawk can get Yoshi Island to run.

I got yoshi island to run as well. Seemed glitchy though. I have a few roms in the 1-3mb range like mortal kombat 3 and kirby that I haven't tested thoroughly gameplay wise but they did seem to boot fine without issue. I'd like to know how to access some sort of options menu in the emulator if there is one.
