Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

Damn that's a pretty big difference in color. I need to find the time to run this exploit. Wanna play peace walker on my vita :D

First device I'd care to use emulators on as well. Wonder how good Mario NES/SNES looks.

Damnit what gives? I did exactly like these 2 and my FTP doesn't show up after going into Mad Blocker Alpha, I see all my other games though. /rage

Yeah, I'm not seeing it either. Maybe the FTP isn't working with this new version of the exploit?

I'm using FTP just fine. Make sure the ZIP is compiled properly, or else it will disappear after you extract it on your vita.

Within the ZIP it should be "PSP>GAME>FTP>EBOOT.PBP"

WOW

Huh, I named it PSP.ZIP and I don't see it. I have the files correct like that dude says, put them in the exploit folder under a folder called PSP.

/exploit/psp/files here

And the exploit doesn't see it at all. :/

lol remove the exploit folder. When people say put it in the exploit folder, they mean put it in the same folder that the hacked save is in.

It should be something like "HOMEBREW.ZIP>PSP>GAME>FTP>EBOOT.PBP"

Quick Question here.... May be a dumb one...

Do you guys have access to that second analog when playing PSP ISOs?

If not, that is such a bust :/ ughhhh

Nonono, I got that. But you have an eboot? I don't have an eboot and I downloaded it directly from wololo. :/

Extract the zip file. Make sure the folders look like how I described them. Then right click PSP and compress it. Then rename the ZIP to all capitols and you should be good.

Took me a while to figure all this out too.

It's in the install.zip file.

Yeah, zips in zips all up in this.

Oh, completely skipped over that .zip

Okay. /psp/game/FTP/eboot.pbp

Meanwhile:

/psp/game/

contains the other four files that came in the first zip.

Good to go, right?

Looks like I'm selling my Vita tomorrow. Not interested in emulators and this is pretty much a death nail to what little hope there was to having a good game library. Now devs are REALLY not going to want to make games for this thing. PSP all over again, when will I ever learn. smdh.

Should be. Give it a shot.

Just so you know, this is only for PSP emulators and PSP games. You can't run backups of Vita games with this hack, or even access all of the Vitas power/memory. This doesn't enable people to pirate Vita games. It won't stop publishers from making games.

Also, there are a bunch of good Vita games coming out soon, bad time to sell.

Just figured it out when a friend of mine send me his FTP file

I was doing everything right and it wasn't working at all..lol

Do not use 7zip!!! Use winrar...that's all it took everything is working fine now

LMAO at your overreaction. This does not effect the main hardware. It only effects the PSP sandbox. WTF is this exploit going to do on PSP2 games?

Oh, right: Nothing. But go ahead and sell your hardware like an idiot throwing a tantrum, the rest of us don't care.

Don't jump the gun son. ;)

I've tried a ton of ways. I can't even get to the extract part on the Vita. This is how I currently have it and I don't see the FTP on the Vita.

D:\PS Vita\Backup\PSAVEDATA\3c3b0f5d9c442171\NPUZ00210CPMEM\HOMEBREW.ZIP>PSP>GAME>FTP>EBOOT.PBP

Why you so silly?
This is boring old PSP cfw, just on a better screen.

I'll give you $30 for it!

what is the point of a post like this?

Has anyone gotten Crisis Core to run on this thing? If yes, can you map the camera to second analog? And can someone post pics? I'm very curious.

Just to make sure, do you also have all the save files in the same folder, beside homebrew.zip?

What save files, you mean the DEFAULT, ICON, MENU, PARAM, SECURE, TN files? Yep all of them are in that folder.

Hey the PSP was dead but I'll be damned if I say it didn't have the 2nd best library last gen.

Not throwing a tantrum at all... I was just saying. I haven't played the system in months and there are a lot of other console games I'd rather put the funds towards. The only thing I'm remotely interested in is the new Assassin's Creed game, but I think I'll be good with AC3 and call it a day. Didn't mean to get anyone riled up with my comments.

I can't help you with that, yes like ALL PSN PSP titles, PSP isos run in the same emulator/sandbox with the same features so yes the second analog can be used for camera controls in games that may allow it.

Can't do that sorry.

AKA: WAHHHHHHHH THE PSP SANDBOX IS EXPLOITED WAHHHHH IT'S GONNA ALLOW PSP2 PIRACY! WAHHHH! DEVS (who don't really care in the first damn place) AREN'T GONNA DEVELOP FOR THE PSP2!!!! WAHHHH!!!!

If you weren't going to throw a tantrum why would you post that?

I'm not the most technical person, but can the PSP exploit lead to Vita piracy?

Sounds like you we're just looking for an excuse to sell it. No need to blame this PSP exploit.

I've hardly touched my consoles in the past 8 months.

Possibly if there's an exploit in the sandbox that is to be found. Note the keyword there: Possibly but at the moment the PSP2 IS NOT EFFECTED. The PSP EMULATOR/"Sandbox" is the only thing thing being exploited and so piracy of PSP2 titles is not possible.

And even then they'd have to crack the hypervisor and keys to allow PSP2 piracy if it's anything like the PS3, Sony stepped their game up on that front.

In other news: Got the FTP to run but it seems to shutdown quickly. :/

The file structure is

/FTP.zip/4fileshere along with PSP/FTP/eboot.pbp

Should run, I extracted the archive, it unzipped. Ran the FTP app again, throws FTP server up and then shuts the server down quickly. WTF?

Oh, it wants wifi on. Really funky that it shows the error message in like 10 seconds to where it's hard to read that. :/

AHAHAHAHAHA. Got it running. I love you guys. Sup, FTP file server? *kicks CMA to the curb*

. :/

But this exploit allows for PSP piracy to continue?

only people who bought the game before sony pulled it will even be able to do this..... it isnt psp all over again.

I think I bricked my system :(

the PS Light is glowing blue but the system is unresponsive to anything... cant turn it on or off and no buttons work.

I screwed mine up with ftp.... I uploaded the folder instead of a zip now madblocker wont run so im basically locked out of it :(

edit: fixed it by going to setting and deleting all my psp add on data.. phew!

You can't brick it with this exploit.

Hold down the power button for 20+ seconds.
oh sweet that worked thanks!!!

but man I cannot figure out what to do next,

Im trying to read some tutorials, they said put your game into a ZIP file, I did that, it extracted and installed it, but it wont find any of my games :(

PXwsC.jpg

this is far as I could get, I can run the SNES but yeay it doesnt show any games, and I copied the whole folder over from my PSP.

Download this: http://www.filedropper.com/homebrew

Put that in the same folder as the original save exploit. Copy over the save, with that ZIP file included. It's the same proccess for how you got the SNES emu on there.

It's an FTP app, which allows you to connect to your PC/MAC over Wifi and transfer files that way. It's a lot easier, and you're going to NEED it once Sony releases a new firmware update (because you need PSN access to use the content manager).

how do you install apps using ftp?
I put them in the psp/game/appname folder and it doesnt work......

edit: nevermind...you HAVE TO put the zip in the "/PSP/SAVEDATA/NPUZ00210CPMEM" folder and install that way or it wont work at all.....

Like it doesn't copy over? If you are using a MAC, use a program called Cyberduck. Finder won't let you edit files.

Make sure it's something like psp/game/snes9x/eboot.pbp (plus other files if neccasary for the program)
